Description
You were alone with Frisk, and the both of you were terrified.
This was normal for you. This was normal, your mother getting absolutely smashed, yelling, and then she’d leave the house for a few long hours. And you, only fourteen years old, would hold your little sibling and try and calm them down while you waited for your insane mother to return.
It was weird, almost being a parent at age fourteen. But who else would be? Your mother was usually drunk or gone. Sometimes, when you saw a shooting star, you’d wish that she’d get better.
Or maybe leave forever. You’d wish you could disappear. You’d wish that you and Frisk could go far away, somewhere where she couldn’t hurt you anymore.
The wishes never came true, at least back then. You stopped wishing on your sixteenth birthday, when you blew out the candle on the pink, messy, yet beautiful cupcake Frisk had made you.
You didn’t make a wish on that candle. You stopped wishing on stars. Nothing would ever change.
You assume that this past remains true in all the ‘resets’ and timelines Sans talks about. Your memories aren’t fully returned yet, but you still can’t remember a timeline when your mother was anything but cruel.
And then, on your eighteenth birthday, after a long fight with your mother -
Your wishes from all the past years came true. You fell.

You couldn’t say you missed your mother. After all, she taught you not to lie. Even as mad as you were, you wouldn’t disobey her wishes. Frisk, however, seemed to miss her more. It’s almost as if she got much more mild after you disappeared. Frisk, when out with Sans, would tell him stories about your mother, and some of the few good things she’d done. She wasn’t always like this, you had to admit.
Only after dad left.
Nobody knew where he went. Nobody knew why he didn’t take you and Frisk.

You missed him.
You were getting dressed for your big date, and you found the locket you were wearing the day you fell. He had given it to you. Inside was a photo of you, him, and Frisk. You all looked so happy - well, because at that point, you were. You were really, really happy. You put it on, and you got dolled up. Sans just smiled at you when you returned, he was in a slightly nicer hoodie and wasn’t wearing his slippers. You didn’t know what you expected, but this was still endearing.

“now, you’ll like this place. very classy. but also, they have bottles of ketchup. fancy ketchup.”

The walk there was short, and you were certain Sans had used his teleportation powers. You didn’t mind though. You both walked inside -
And you froze, seeing the host.
The host froze, seeing you.

As a human SOUL, shapeshifting was easy, and sometimes you were unsure why you didn’t shift into a monster.
