I'll buy a subscribtion to anyone who has seen a more realistic interpretation of Super mario World...even in the games Lol.Well that was my intention anyway, Mario games have always had a cartoony charm about them which is why I enjoy them so much. I decided to do this after playing some of the older games, and the one on DS.
The hills, mushroom, fruits and block of land in the foreground were modelled in Cinema 4D, while the rest and some of the textures were done in Vue 6. Some of the textures were made by me in Photoshop. The final render had minimal Photoshop input ( aside from minor cloning and smoothing of undesirsble features ). Surprisingly, the render took just over 4 hours...pretty quick by my standards.
....Makes me wonder what bowser would look like ?

to me (and i'm kinda exaggerating this) everything in the Mushroom kingdom has eyes! (yeah, not everything) even the banana peels (mario kart wii)
what next? a toilet with eyes? XD

Mario Kart Wii, and especially Mario Kart Double Dash (Gamecube) did go just a bit overboard with the eyes

lol. even those fireballs in the dry desert course in Mario Kart Wii (or the Ruins, i can't remember the names) had eyes.
should i even mention the Freezies (those things in super smash bros brawl but i don't know what mario game they came from. i have its trophy) had eyes? lol

The fireballs in that track are actually really old characters that first appeared in Super Maio Bros 3 as an enemy that moved in the same way (almost "hopping" around the course) And they had eyes back in that too (or at least I'm sure of it, I haven't played that classic in ages 
The Freezies might be even older. I think they were from one of the very first Mario or Donkey Kong games

hmm. i dunno. i haven't gotten my dad to set up his old NES to play some of the classic mario games he as in a box in our basement.
i have seen this large sun enemy thing with an angry face one game (i'm still learning about the classic video games since i wasn't into video games until 2012 
(noobish comment ahead) I always thought Donkey Kong was kinda/sorta the first mario game (again, i'm still in progress of learning the video game history. The only thing i know is Pong was the first video game, and some other stuff)

The "Angry Sun" as I call it was an enemy on just one level in Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES. He would swoop down from the sky and try to attack you, best thing to do (especially since its a mostly flat stage) is to run like hell all the way through
You are sorta right about the Donkey Kong thing. Technically Mario was first seen in the first Donkey Kong game as the character you had to use to avoid the barrels. I think back then he wasn't even named yet and was referred to as "Jumpman"

i did remember my friend telling me Mario was originally Jumpman

something similar to the thing with trying to make a smiley face on him, didn't they also want to make yoshi in Super Mario Bros but couldn't because of the limits of the NES?

Did you ever notice that typo in Yoshi's dialogue in Super Mario 64 where instead of "is that really you," he says "It that really you?" Just some funny thing to point out

I did Bowser's Castle a while ago, but not actually Bowser yet. He would be hard to draw in a realistic style, especially since I've seen heaps of other realistic Bowser's (and other Mario characters) that all set the bar pretty high

The Hills have eyes, the Mushrooms (Including Goombas) have eyes and it move, the Rock have eyes and have their own soul (Thwomp), the Clouds has eyes, the Star (Including Lumas) has eyes, the war material have eyes (Bob-omb), the Bacteria have eyes (From Doctor Mario), the the suit have eyes (Penguin Suit From NSMBW), the treasure bag have eyes that actually have their soul (The Treasure Bag monster from SMG, and SMG2), the plants have eyes and actually moves (Pokey), and much more. ...What? It's Nintendo Logic, almost every thing have an eyes.

Now this would be a fresh and innovative take on the mario franchise. Graphics like these would make me interested in playing the demo I know will never come.

Well no, not the whole franchise, but I would like to see some originality from the mario series. I'll agree there are a lot of generic ripoffs, but that doesn't mean that beautiful landscapes have lost their purpose. There's still something to be said for shimmering leaves through the trees, and little artistic touches. You're right though, serious is far too commonly married with moody teenage angst and it's a little annoying.
