Description Two glossy Metallic Starlings, taken at the San Diego Zoo. Unlike the European Starling, a serious invasive pest species, Metallic Starlings are not cavity nesters. They build loose, hanging, communal nests of plant matter that dangle from the trees. They are native to New Guinea, and a small population exists in Australia.

These two might be planning something nefarious.

What a lovely pair! I really like the colors of green and purple in their feathers.
