Description tribal origins series-

of course one hand was just not enough, so I did 2 on this one, I just can't get a great photo of both at the same time

after hearing about various tribal art traditions, I started wondering about tribal roots. The search took me way back to find some tribal origins - back 15,000 to 30,000 years to cave paintings in France.

Hands were a feature of cave paintings from around the world at various times, one theory being that they were a signature of the artist, but most definitely a statement of "I was here!"

the first in the series is found here--> [link]

I love how the hands shapes are in the middle of the vase. Yes they do evoke a cave art sort of feel.

I don't say this as a double-meaning joke, but it's got feeling. Just like thoise hand prints, this really tells a story.

How do you stop the long bits between 'fingers' from sagging?

I don't know- they did warp some, maybe the thickness (I don't throw really thin yet) and lower (^6) temp?
