I visited Carolina Tiger Rescue in North Carolina over the weekend for the first time. It was also my first time visiting a big cat sanctuary. Gwah, it was amazing - even if it did rain during most of the tour. Because of the rain, I didn't get as many photos as I hoped I would (soo depressing).

Here is the first of them - and it is probably the best of the bunch. By far. It's of Roman, one of their male lions. He's handsome, isn't he?

Oh, my...my... he is definitely handsome, and a very beautiful shot to go with it!
Have a good time I see?

Thanks, Jamie! He definitely is a handsome fellow, gosh. <3 I have two or three other really good photos of him that I still need to edit for uploading here.

And I definitely did! It was a lot of fun, even if it did rain the majority of the time. Lol. All of the cats were soo beautiful. I would so work there if I lived close enough.

:edger: Can't wait to see the other pictures you have of him, the coloring and all come out really awesome.

I'm happy to hear that you had such a good time (weather can be such a pain when it decides to rain on such a day as that.)
So did they have every kind of wild cat, from tigers to clouded leopards to lynx and bobcats? Or was it more limited?

Thanks again! And I can't wait to get them completed. Lol.

I know, it really is a pain. And you have to buy tickets in like two-weeks advance because there are only a certain number of people they take on tours, so that makes it hard to determine when to visit because you never know what the weather will be like when you make tour reservations. D: It was still fun, and I definitely want to go again.

Since it is a sanctuary (where they take in cats they rescued from abusive situations, like with exotic pet owners who aren't responsible enough to care for the animal any longer) then it was more limited. They still had a nice range, though. They had a few caracals, some servals, a bobcat, and a few ocelots for the "smaller" wild cats. For the big cats, they had about three or four lions that we saw (Roman is the only male we saw with a mane), tigers (including a white tiger) and a few cougars.
