When I was a kid, I always thought it was amusing how the packaging implies that the player fell from the sky into Myst, and yet he doesn't get hurt from the fall. In fact, here's my Top 5 Jokes About This Poster:
5) Hey, I can see my house from--SPLAT!
4) All of a sudden, being shot out of a cannon didn't seem like such a good idea.
3) Never trust Superman to give you a ride.

dude! Someone is totally trying to do this! I doubt it'll get very far because it's not something easily translated to movie form but somebody is trying to do it.

It would be hard, but not impossible to pull off a Myst movie. It would have to be different from the games for sure, because even the most die hard Myst fan would be board stiff watching some sap trying to solve puzzles without anything else going on for 2 hours. But you would take the premise of the story, the books, the ages, add in a bit more drama, you could do it, and you could do a very good one, but you couldn't do an exact take off of Myst. Even Revelation, which would be the easiest to adapt to film, would need quite a few changes, most noticeably by having more of Atrus in it...

(Don't know if this has been mentioned but--) I've heard tell of Myst movie coming out. All I heard recently (not very recent) was that in 2009 they had the OK to go ahead with production. I haven't seen anything else other than that though.

I honestly don't know how they could make a Myst movie without ruining the game. I mean the character you play as is given no back story what so ever, no face, no speech, just you.
I guess they could probably pull it off if it was a prequel of myst or during the time the "Stranger" wasn't around. But then again they would need the original actors, as replacements couldn't pull it off.

The catchphrase is perfect! It describes certain aspects of the game so well. You have no idea what you are getting into when you first open that book.

I think they are making one. I so hope it's based off of the books and the earlier games. The later ones (with the ecception of Uru) kind of stunk lol.

I actually read somewhere online they were actually considering making it into a movie. I think it would be awesome. Maybe not the actual game itself, but more of the background info, like what happened in Riven or Exile, that stuff would make a sweet movie.

Mystmovie.com as of right now it still not confirm whether its a fake or the real thing. Only clues, puzzles (strangely) have point towards the idea. But it not known who owns the site so it could be fake.
