:3 i am sooooo happy with thisi know the tones make it a little messy, but overall, i'm very proud of this tryout. (2.5)
oh and Tabby, Cheese is the really spastic one in the front by the mic. x3

This is an amazing picture!! I love the tines, i think the floor may need some variation between tones, like a darker shade maybe? It might help break it up a lil' And maybe some white highlights, to define the really shiney gems on the collar, and the industrial meybe? I dunno
But, don't get me wrong this is awesome! It really shows of your induvidual style!!

You have sucha unique style, I love the pixel goodness of the character. Excellent work, especially on the crowd! and giving each one a bit of a feature, wonderfully done, I wouldnt have had the pacience for sucha thing.

This is fantastic, Sammy - I love the bright tones (especially in contrast to the dark shadows) and the fact that you were bold enough to step outside the box of normal SROA tryouts and do something different and creative for a background. <33
I really like the feel of this piece. There's a lot of energy in the crowd, and I can almost feel the music playing ('course, it could be my brother playing his guitar in the basement, who knows). I actually wish I was there, feeling the rush and the joy that comes with being at a really awesome concert you really wanted to go to. XD
I rather like the tones on the character, though I'm going to echo what others on SROA said and agree that the fluffiness seems forces - especially because his legs are so smooth by comparison. I'm also going to add that while I admire your skills with tones, I think you have a tendency to over-use them. You also seem to use them with a completely different type of shading - in this case, tones in the foreground with watercolors in the background. It gives the piece an inconsistent feel, because I'm not sure if I should believe the tones are the "right" style, or the watercolors. In fact, it almost makes me think I'm looking at two separate works you stitched together to complete: the audience and the singer.
I would say if you're going to use both tones and watercolors to shade, amp up your watercolors, tone down the tones and use both together across the piece as opposed to two different styles in two different sections.
That doesn't stop me from loving it, though! I do really hope you get in this time around. <3 Best of luck!

It's not always a bad thing! I actually kind of admire the crazy tones. XDXD;;; I'm really only thinking as a fellow artist when I say you abuse them. Honestly, if you had done this whole piece with tones, it would have been completely amazing - not that it isn't already, but it would have been amazing in a totally different way.
...I think a good trick for you would be to rein in the amount of tones in your work (i.e. - use them sparingly), but then allow yourself a piece every now and again where you can just use them and abuse them; kind of like getting the itch outta your system.
