I like this it is a great effort, I know what you mean by taking photographs of work you never seem to get the same quality as what it looks like in real life or even a scanner. One suggestion I have is tonal value (if this has been done already but is missed by the photograph please forgive me), adding dark next to light gives a great 3D effect, for an example of this in my own work have a look on the trunk of this elephant drawing I done a while back [link] having a drawing that is too much the one tone lets the hard work that you've done go unseen by the viewer as it all looks the same. I recommend printing this image out getting a heavy B pencil so 5B or 6B and just add some darker lines into your drawing, add these lines to the face & eye sockets I think will really give your picture punch. Another thing is knowing where the light is coming from, from the look of this image the light source was front on possibly from a flash on the original photograph, actuating where the light is coming from will give your drawing realism. Oh well I hope I have helped & not offended, good luck with your next project.

Glad you appreciated the comments, there are some people out there who don't like constructive criticism at all.

yep been there too, like I don't mind critical criticism but it's got to be useful otherwise they're flapping their jaw but some people out there just want to get pats on the back, it is nice but that's not what I come to Deviantart for if I want a pat on the back I'd see a mate or one of the family I come to this website to get criticism and hint or tips it is what makes me a better artist, I'm mostly self taught so this place is great for me to get all that feedback good or bad I don't care as long as I keep learning.

You are welcome. I know how hard it is to draw animals.
