One for my good friend John JSH50 who drove this locomotive. There were only 17 of what I regard as 'proper' Western Region class 47 'namers' until the railway authorities started slapping names on just about anything that took their fancy.British Rail class 47 No. 47080 Titan at rest on Long Rock Depot, Penzance, November 30, 1974. Long Rock was a standard Great Western steam 'straight' shed, dating from 1914, replaced in more recent years by a High-Speed Train depot. Titan entered traffic in 1965 and was scrapped in March 2006.
