Description So named for two reasons, the obvious being the burl handle, but the main being because of the shape of the grind heel. The first knives we drew before ever trying to make all had their grind ending progressively and we only realised afterwards how much more complicated that would be to do. So as the first knife we make with the signature mark of our first desings, roots seemed an appropriate name. It's a one of a kind piece, quite a bit larger than our previous work, clocking in at about four inches of blade, and a slightly longer handle. Scales are Thuya burl with a lamination of ebony underneath, the rivets are our usual sterling silver, and the blade is 01 tool steel.

This is the first tidbit of a bunch of pieces we made over the last month or so (losing quite a bit of sleep in the process), all part of our turnout for the Canadian Knifemakers Guild Show. We'll be putting the rest up progressively.
