Most striving artists's ideal critique is one telling them what they're good at/improving on and then telling what they need to improve on. Sometimes followed by a useful art site/pic that gives tips. They'll need as much as they can get to become professionals.

Now I admit I used to take criticism the wrong way back in my noob days. Thinking back it was perhaps because I was frustrated and did not know how to improve. Since then i've researched tutorials and did my best to work off those. Also the art classes helped a lot. My pics wouldn't look this way now if they weren't for that.

To artists: If something was intended to be that way in a pic, just explain yourself. Don't condemn the critic for pointing it out.

- If you don't understand what the critic is talking about, just politely ask what they mean. Don't take your frustration out on them.

- They might not always say what they like about the pic, just what to improve on. Don't take it the wrong way, it doesn't mean that they think the whole thing is flawed.

- As for insulters, thats another story. They could either be trolls or elitist snobs with a holier-than-thou attitude. Its best to not associate with that kind. Block the insulters, not the people who are trying to help.

To striving artists: Save pics of tutorials and take as many art classes as you can. They help a lot more than I thought.

To critics: If the artist doesn't want criticism, then just move on. They'll apologize when they grow up and realize how foolish they acted

To insulters: Don't like? Don't look. Also grow up.

- Don't condemn the artist the rest of their life by drawing hate art and/or commit art theft by posting their pics on insulting tumblr blogs

To elitists: Lighten up. Everybody is a growing artist and will always continue to grow. There's no such thing as 'perfection' (or so I believe), there will always be room for improvement in someone's eyes. I'm sure even you started out like them at the beginning.

- LET the artist grow. Don't assume they're gonna the same person now as they were 10 years ago
