~XxMissLionessxX left a comment on a piece of VitanixKiara fan art that I did a while back which gave me an idea. I always like to imagine Kiara and Vitani getting together, but I always forget about Kovu. I decided to create a love interest for him, someone whose personality would suit him a little better than Kiara's.

This is Maziwa. He appears one day in the Pridelands and when challeneged by Simba, who is still king, Maziwa introduces himself as the half brother of Malka (you might remember him as the tufty-eared cub from the TLK comic Simba's New Brother [link] ). Maziwa tells Simba that he's left his pride, where Malka is king, to start his own pride. What he doesn't mention is that he tried to seduce Malka's queen, and when she refused him he tried to kill her. Subsequently, Malka banished him.

Not knowing the truth, Simba warmly welcomes his old friend's half brother. They chat and share news for a while until Kovu shows up from another hunting lesson with Kiara (she's still not very good). Maziwa is immediately infatuated, as he had been with Malka's queen. Kovu is similarly stricken, but he doesn't know why yet.

So the game begins.
