Awesome image!  Did you program a delay between each exposure to give the sensor a chance to cool down (and allow the camera to write the image to the card)?

Thanks! The Velbon Shutterboss (the intervalometer that I use) has a 1" minimum delay between shots. But even if it didn't have that delay, the D800 sensor would still be fine, and the CF card I am using can keep up no problem... The only time my camera has had to catch up is when I have it on rapid fire mode and I'm taking 10 shots per second... then it needs a couple seconds to write to disk.

This is just brilliant... Love the way that the "portal" coincides with the tree branch, really awesome!

Thank you very much! Once I found this tree, I made sure to line up the top branches with the north star in order to achieve this affect...

Very cool time lapse. I was gunna guess that the exposure was about 4 hours based on the length of the arcs..

Very cool!
