Ashley's father worked as a scientist for the United States military, often helping NASA and the Air Force test out top secret classified projects. During one such project, he was exposed to a unique and at the time unknown type of radiation. The radiation changed his DNA and his cells, though the effects of this remained dormant and never surfaced as being harmful. When Ashley was conceived, the modified DNA and cellular structure passed on to her, though it wasn't until her mother received an MRI scan at the hospital while pregnant with Ashley that the effects began to manifest themselves. Something during the scan triggered a reaction in the new DNA, though it was undetected during Ashley's birth. It wouldn't be until years later, around when she was twelve years old that she began to realize she was different compared to the other children her age. Upon the first showings of her developing powers, her father performed a battery of medical tests and scans on her, and discovered her modified genetics. He quickly deduced the reasoning behind her development, and swore her to keep her abilities a secret from those around her, fearing that she would be taken away by the government for testing. He made sure that Ashley's mother was also aware of her special abilities and the two parents did their best to make their daughter feel comfortable despite being so different from others her age. Ashley kept her abilities a secret, but being so different made her a bit shy as a child and a teenager. Ashley managed to find her stride in high school though, where she joined the Air Force's ROTC program, wanting to follow in her father's footsteps. She graduated at the top of her class and attended the Air Force academy for four years, where she focused on becoming an intelligence officer and again graduated at the top of her class.

Active duty took Ashley to several hot spots around the world, where she led various classified operations, including a tactical mission against a group of terrorists in northern Africa. On this mission she met Captain Daniel Clarke, and the two struck up a close friendship when she used her skills to navigate his wounded F-15 home after a successful mission. Despite their age difference, Captain Clarke took Ashley under his wing after discovering she was from his hometown of Chicago, and he served as a major support system for her when she was overseas, eventually introducing her to his wife and daughter Cassie Clarke, who became a "little sister" to Ashley and often wrote and communicated with her while she was overseas to help keep her spirits up. Ashley quickly earned a promotion to the rank of Captain and spent her final year in the Air Force as a special investigations officer, though she began to think that she might be able to make a bigger difference in the world if she were able to use her powers to help people, instead of constantly keeping them a secret. These thoughts were further encouraged when she met Isla Hendry, an ace British fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force. During a joint operation between United States and British forces in Egypt, Ashley met the young and bold redhead and the two of them became fast friends as they worked together on several operations. Isla grew attracted to Ashley and found her feelings mutual, and soon the two were getting intimate in secret behind closed doors. The two would later take leave together in Egypt, and while on an amazing vacation together Isla revealed to Ashley that she also had super human abilities and had been responsible for rescuing several captured pilots in her heroic identity as Guardian Rose. Feeling like she had found a kindred spirit in Isla, Ashley revealed her own powers to Isla, and the beautiful British pilot encouraged her to pursue her dream of using her abilities to protect others.

Ashley and Isla continued their relationship, though they both eventually agreed that they were young and just enjoying life, and that given the distance their respective military careers would eventually put between them, it would only be a matter of time before they each found their true love. Once the joint operation in Egypt was over with, Isla joined a special program that brought her under the employ of the USAF, and she was moved to a base in California to train American pilots and test out experimental aircraft, though she did see a few more combat sorties in the Middle East before being stationed in the United States. Ashley was still able to see her close friend from time to time, and the two of them even enjoyed a rather intimate vacation in Greece when they both went on leave. At the end of her first active duty period, Ashley decided to take Isla's advice, and she retired from the Air Force, heading back home to Chicago where she joined the Chicago Police Department as a detective, wanting to do whatever she could to help curb the skyrocketing crime rate in her beloved city. As she settled back into civilian life she also designed herself a makeshift costume and to pay homage to her time in the Air Force, took the name Silver Falcon as she became Chicago's costumed protector. Most of the criminal groups in the city were none to happy to see a costumed super hero arrive on the scene, but there wasn't much they could do about it given Ashley's incredible powers. Eventually Ashley discovered that Daniel Clarke's daughter Cassie was also the super heroine Astra Girl, and the two "sisters" soon joined forces, with Ashley taking Cassie under her wing just as her father had once done for her, teaching Astra Girl the ropes as the two of them became a formidable crime fighting force. Ashley and Cassie's teaming up as super heroes brought them even closer together, with the two of them forming a strong sisterly bond.

The makeshift uniform that Ashley had fashioned for herself soon proved to be a bit impractical, and with the help of Cassie's mother and some space age fabric supplied by her father, she upgraded her costume to a much more iconic look that included an impressive falcon logo on her chest with powerful looking wings that swept back over her shoulders. Shortly after getting her new suit Isla paid a visit to Chicago and the two old friends quickly picked up where they had left off, enjoying an intimate weekend while Ashley showed off her new costume, teaming up with Guardian Rose to take down a group of would be thieves that attempted to rob an international bank in Chicago. A few weeks after Isla's departure, Ashley met and befriended the Crimson Valkyrie, who came to Chicago seeking the supplier of illegal energy weapons that had found their way to her hometown of Steel City. Together she and Silver Falcon tracked the weapons to the nefarious Clara Oswin and her science and tech mega-corporation Oswin Consolidated Properties. Though initially annoyed by their interference in her plans, Clara soon came to see Silver Falcon, Crimson Valkyrie, and Astra Girl as a challenge to prove that her science and tech was better than their natural super powers. Oswin began to create new weapons and tech designed with the sole purpose of making their costumed lives difficult, the bold scientist even going so far as to attempt to capture the super powered women for study. The trials and tribulations of fighting against Clara's creations had a different effect than the egotistical scientist had hoped tough, as it brought them closer together, especially Silver Falcon and Crimson Valkyrie, who soon forged an oft-flirtatious relationship that only strengthened when Ashley was offered the opportunity to lead a brand new Meta-Crimes Task Force that was being created within the Steel City Police Department by Crimson's longtime friend Major Maurice Foley. Being former military special forces himself, Foley was impressed with Ashley's resume and track record, despite not knowing that she was also Silver Falcon.

Ashley debated for several days on whether or not she would take the position, but in the end decided to follow her dreams and her heart as she moved to Crimson's hometown of Steel City, passing the torch to Astra Girl to defend Chicago as its flagship heroine. While Cassie was a bit saddened by Ashley's departure, she knew that Steel City was only a short flight away, and that the two close friends would still see each other quite often. She also knew that Ashley was struggling with her feelings for Crimson Valkyrie, and was hoping that being closer to her would help Ashley finally let her guard down and fully embrace the love it was clear Crimson wanted to share with her. Ashley soon settled into her new role within the SCPD, while also adapting to rooftop life in Steel City with Crimson, the two of them becoming even closer as they fought together. Fate would further conspire to bring them together when Ashley sought out the help of Tiffany Anderson, a brilliant research scientist who was an expert in bio-medical tech, for one of her ongoing cases. Events spiraled from there as Ashley's evidence led her to the nefarious Doctor Kotetsu, Crimson Valkyrie's arch nemesis, and soon Silver Falcon and Crimson Valkyrie found themselves in a life and death battle against the mad scientist's seemingly never ending supply of well armed cybernetic creations. Ashley also faced another battle in her personal life, as she became attracted to Tiffany, the two of them going on several dates together as a romance blossomed between them. Thankfully this also sorted itself out as Ashley discovered that Tiffany and Crimson were one and the same, the revelation allowing the two of them to completely dive into their romantic relationship on both fronts. Now they face whatever danger life throws at them together, the two heroines having vowed to protect Steel City from the likes of Clara Oswin and Doctor Kotetsu, and any other would-be enemies that would rise to challenge them.

Costume Description and Details:

Bodysuit – Silver Falcon wears a one-piece legless silver bodysuit with a bikini style cut. Grey highlights on the suit form a falcon logo that goes from just below her breasts to back over her shoulders, forming the same logo on the back of the costume. Her costume is made of a durable synthetic material sewn by Cassie Clarke's mother, which is resistant but not indestructible. The costume has a hidden zipper at the back of he neck which runs down to about the middle of her back. Originally her suit is made from an experimental space age fabric that can stand up to the heat and stress of re-entry into Earth's atmosphere, making it incredibly durable. Tiffany later helps Ashley upgrade her suit's fabric so that it is nearly impervious to damage.

Gloves - Silver Falcon wears a pair of flared silver gloves, which are a bit darker in color than her bodysuit. The gloves are made from a synthetic leather like material that is heavy and durable.

Boots – Silver Falcon sports a pair of simple silver knee high boots with practical soled heels. The boots are a bit of a darker shade of silver compared to the rest of her costume and are made of a heavy duty synthetic leather material to prevent wear and tear.

Belt – A trim metallic grey belt is worn around her slender waist. While small in appearance, there are a few hidden compartments on the belt that house a GPS locator and distress beacon, as well as enough space to hide a small flash drive or two.

Mask – Silver wear a grey domino style eye mask over her eyes to protect her identity. The mask is applied with a special adhesive which requires solvent to remove and is later upgraded with Tiffany's special nanites so it bonds directly to her skin.

Undergarments – Silver Falcon normally wears a sports bra and matching panties under her costume. She will also sometimes wear a pair of special nylons when she is trying to doll herself up for Tiffany while on patrol.

Powers:

Enhanced Physical Strength and Durability – Ashley is incredibly strong and her super strength allows her to lift over 70 metric tons with normal effort. She can exceed this limit for short periods of time but risks damage to her skeletal and muscular structure if she does so. Ashley's skin is also incredibly tough and durable. Blows that affect normal humans barely register to her. Her skin is bulletproof up to a certain caliber. A .45 caliber round is capable of breaking her skin and wounding her, but not seriously. Her skin is also impervious to smaller bladed weapons and needles. She can take quite a bit of physical punishment without signs of injury, however she is not completely invulnerable and can suffer wounds, bruises, broken bones, and internal injuries.

Natural Flight - Ashley is capable of free flight without restrictions. Her top speed is around 700 mph, though she is capable of pushing herself faster at the risk of physical exhaustion.

Enhanced Metabolism – As of a result of her mutation, Ashley has a boosted metabolism. She heals slightly faster than a normal human and processes alcohol and other substances more quickly, however this should not be mistaken for a healing factor. Because of this, she is constantly hungry. Her enhanced metabolism also keeps her from getting sick on most occasions.

Fighting Skill – Ashley is a trained fighter, skilled in several martial arts as well as boxing and self defense. She is not world class by any means, but her strength and speed give her a bit of an edge in most fights. Ashley also has excellent environmental awareness, and prefers to out think her opponents, using the environment around her to defeat them if she can. She is also capable of using heavy objects as weapons or projectiles. Given that she is a detective and has considerable military experience, she is a solid marksman and well versed in the use of many firearms, though she does not use these in her heroine persona. Later in her career Ashley is trained by both Tiffany and her Asgardian Valkyrie sisters in various arts of hand to hand combat, which rounds out her fighting skill and makes her an incredibly formidable opponent.

Strong Willed - Ashley is incredibly brave and strong willed. She is capable of ignoring most injuries while she is focused on a task or enemy and will selflessly put herself in danger to save innocent lives. She will not go down without a fight and refuses to give up against any opponent. Her strong will also gives her a slight resistance to mind control.

Weaknesses:

Drugs, Gas, Anesthetics, etc. – Silver Falcon can be weakened and rendered unconscious by most normal to heavy applications of these attacks, whether it be chloroform, knockout gas, etc. Her boosted metabolism will speed up her recovery time and she has a base resistance to most substances, but she can be kept unconscious and helpless for an indefinite amount of time through any of these means. With the lack of a powerful healing factor, drugs and gases are her primary weakness and can hit her hard.

Physical Damage – Despite her amazing durability, Silver is not fully invulnerable and can still be injured and physically worn down by a stronger opponent or by multiple opponents. Severe blows to the head can render her unconscious and while she is physically tough and resilient, her body can suffer internal injuries if she sustains too much physical punishment. Her bones are breakable but it would take an incredibly high amount of force to do so.

Elemental/Energy Attacks – Fire and Ice do not normally bother Silver, though Ice can be used to immobilize her, but energy based blasts and electrical attacks can incapacitate her depending on the power level and her physical state.

Magic and Mind Control - Though Ashley is very strong willed, she has no base defense against more powerful forms of magic and is vulnerable to mind control. She can resist mind control for a short period of time, depending on the strength of the user.

High Tech/Alien Metals - Though her skin is impervious to most blades and several types of ammunition, both Clara Oswin and Dr. Kotetsu have developed high tech synthetic metals that are capable of wounding her, as well as needles that are able to penetrate her tough skin. Most of these employ some type of alien metal or a powerful vibrating mechanism.

She can take quite a bit of physical punishment without signs of injury, however she is not completely invulnerable and can suffer wounds, bruises, broken bones, and internal injuries.

Natural Flight - Ashley is capable of free flight without restrictions. Her top speed is around 700 mph, though she is capable of pushing herself faster at the risk of physical exhaustion.

Enhanced Metabolism – As of a result of her mutation, Ashley has a boosted metabolism. She heals slightly faster than a normal human and processes alcohol and other substances more quickly, however this should not be mistaken for a healing factor. Because of this, she is constantly hungry. Her enhanced metabolism also keeps her from getting sick on most occasions.

Fighting Skill – Ashley is a trained fighter, skilled in several martial arts as well as boxing and self defense. She is not world class by any means, but her strength and speed give her a bit of an edge in most fights. Ashley also has excellent environmental awareness, and prefers to out think her opponents, using the environment around her to defeat them if she can. She is also capable of using heavy objects as weapons or projectiles. Given that she is a detective and has considerable military experience, she is a solid marksman and well versed in the use of many firearms, though she does not use these in her heroine persona. Later in her career Ashley is trained by both Tiffany and her Asgardian Valkyrie sisters in various arts of hand to hand combat, which rounds out her fighting skill and makes her an incredibly formidable opponent.

Strong Willed - Ashley is incredibly brave and strong willed. She is capable of ignoring most injuries while she is focused on a task or enemy and will selflessly put herself in danger to save innocent lives. She will not go down without a fight and refuses to give up against any opponent. Her strong will also gives her a slight resistance to mind control.

Weaknesses:

Drugs, Gas, Anesthetics, etc. – Silver Falcon can be weakened and rendered unconscious by most normal to heavy applications of these attacks, whether it be chloroform, knockout gas, etc. Her boosted metabolism will speed up her recovery time and she has a base resistance to most substances, but she can be kept unconscious and helpless for an indefinite amount of time through any of these means. With the lack of a powerful healing factor, drugs and gases are her primary weakness and can hit her hard.

Physical Damage – Despite her amazing durability, Silver is not fully invulnerable and can still be injured and physically worn down by a stronger opponent or by multiple opponents. Severe blows to the head can render her unconscious and while she is physically tough and resilient, her body can suffer internal injuries if she sustains too much physical punishment. Her bones are breakable but it would take an incredibly high amount of force to do so.

Elemental/Energy Attacks – Fire and Ice do not normally bother Silver, though Ice can be used to immobilize her, but energy based blasts and electrical attacks can incapacitate her depending on the power level and her physical state.

Magic and Mind Control - Though Ashley is very strong willed, she has no base defense against more powerful forms of magic and is vulnerable to mind control. She can resist mind control for a short period of time, depending on the strength of the user.

High Tech/Alien Metals - Though her skin is impervious to most blades and several types of ammunition, both Clara Oswin and Dr. Kotetsu have developed high tech synthetic metals that are capable of wounding her, as well as needles that are able to penetrate her tough skin. Most of these employ some type of alien metal or a powerful vibrating mechanism.
