Sometimes this can make her come across as unwilling to listen to others/take other's into consideration but all her decisions are made as she feels is what's in the best interest of others. She isn't egotistical but sometimes can be a bit braggish when her way tends to end up working more than it doesn't.

Back Story:

                Cassidy is unknowingly the adopted daughter of her parents Carson and Kimberly Carrol. When she was a little girl she one day showed up in their yard playing with their daughters who were just older than Cassidy was at that age. Carson who was then a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force used his connections to try to find her parents, but when blood tests done at his base showed non human DNA interwoven with her human DNA, he ordered the files classified and chose to just take the young girl in to keep her safe. He had personally seen how the government treated any and all specimens of extra terrestrial origins and couldn't bare to see a young child go through that or even worse, turn into some experiment to be dissected. His daughters Chloe and Carmen were young enough, they barely remember Cassidy not always being there as part of the family. And Carson and Kimberly just don't bring up life before that day very much to keep suspicions low. This didn't prove to have any problems until shortly after Cassidy turned 14. While she was going through puberty, the alien part of her DNA started granting her with superpowers. Not a day went by that Colonel Carson and his wife weren't scared to death that someone would find out about Cassidy's gifts.

            Over time, through lots of practice and restraint, Cassidy learned to control/hide her gifts. She only used them sparingly when she knew no one was around. In a way this hurt her emotionally as she felt like she was having to hide who she really was, but tried her best to put up a strong front as if it didn't eat away at her. She stayed out of sports but did convince her parents to let her try out and then easily get on the high school cheer leading squad. She could easily help lift the other girls and do back flips without hardly any exertion. When her fellow cheerleaders asked why she never broke a sweat, she could just blow it off. During her last year of high school she had an on again/off again relationship with one of the football players but that ended when she caught him making out with a fellow cheerleader at prom. After high school, Cassidy enrolled in a junior college while buying time while trying to convince her parents to let her join the military like her father whom she looked up to as a hero. During these two years, Cassidy fell in love with a former cheer leading friend and dated for over a year until she left for a four year college and Cassidy stayed to pursue her dream of joining the Air Force. Her father had recently taken a position at the Pentagon in military intelligence with an emphasis on tracking/monitoring the ever growing meta human population of the United States and the world. During one of their many heated debates around the dinner table, Cassidy suggested that maybe instead of using his connections to get her medical tests hidden, that maybe just maybe she could help out with her natural gifts. Instead of hiding them, bring them out of hiding. Over time, the argument started to gain traction as Colonel Carrol knew the current Presidential Administration had shown great interest in having a meta human symbolizing the United States. He knew in his gut there were already covert metas working for the military. Too much knowledge and technology was starting to flow through from "crashes and discoveries", but he knew not to ask the source. He and Cassidy worked on a complete package, getting down her look and code name at home while he slowly worked on getting people at the Pentagon to be open to the concept by dropping little tidbits in conversations. However they her father never felt like the timing was getting right.

            One day Cassidy was at home watching a nearby press event that was honoring military heroes where the President was speaking. During the event a tech based villain named Backdraft attacked the event, killing several in attendance with his flame attacks and injuring several others while making a slow but steady approach to the President. Cassidy quickly donned her Americana outfit and flew out the front door and across town to the event. She planted herself firmly between Backdraft and the President and went toe to toe with him, eventually crushing his flame cannons on his wrists and knocking him out. While his armored suit was bullet proof it was unable to withstand the crushing forces of her blows and blasts. With what was left of the press watching her victory and saving of the President when the secret service could not, she took hold of the moment and turned the attack into a moment to introduce herself and offer her services as America's heroine. Fighting for it's people and values to serve and protect the country that she loves. The President gladly accepted and thanked her for saving his life and the lives of everyone else in attendance that she could. Back at the White House, Colonel Carrol and others from his department at the Pentagon were called in to meet Americana and it was decided that the Colonel and his team would serve as her intelligence/support so Americana could serve her country as best she could. Both Cassidy and her father did their utmost to not even hint at them knowing each other until they were in private. He scolded her for just flying off half cocked like some hot headed stick jockey. But once he calmed himself commended her for being so fast and brave. She chuckled "Saving the President on the first day isn't a bad start, is it?" He just smirked and patted her on the shoulder and agreed with her. "No. No it isn't." He turned back to face her as he firmly placed his dress uniform cap on his head. "I'll see you at the office, Americana. Just...introduce yourself at the front desk, we will get you situated from there." She smiled and placed her gloved hand on her hip as she pivoted her weight on her back leg. "See you at work, Colonel." She said with a small sense of satisfaction in her voice. She was slightly proud of herself and was trying to coax some type of approval from her father. What she got in turn shocked her and melted her heart at the same time. Giving her goosebumps all over. He stood at perfect attention and saluted her. "On behalf of the United States, thank you for your service to your country and for saving the President." Cassidy straightened up and lost the cocky attitude and returned her father's salute. "Just doing what I was born to do, Colonel." She said with a slightly cracked voice holding back the tears in her eyes and the quivering in her lips.

Powers:

        Flight - Can easily cruise at speeds of about 500-550 miles per hour. In short bursts and at great strain, she can approach mach 1 but has passed out every time she has attempted it so far.

        Super Strength - Americana can max out her strength at 60 metric tons. She nearly injured herself trying more than that during testing her limits.

        Endurance. Americana's skin while remaining soft to the touch like normal skin, is nearly impenetrable. Even armor piercing round and blade flatten against her skin.

        Kinetic Blasts - Americana can excite the potential energies in the molecules around her and channel them in either extended blasts or short bursts as energy attacks from her hands. As a fun party trick she can also make her eyes glow, but has yet to be able to shoot energy beams from her eyes as scientists theorize she could.

Weaknesses:

        Chemicals/Gas/Etc - Americana does not have any natural defenses against chemical attacks. While she can hold her breath longer than any olympic athlete, she cannot do so for forever and will succumb to smoke inhalation, chemicals and such.

        Energy/Elemental/Mental/Magic - Americana has no defenses against energy, mental or elemental attacks. Her alien half gives her greater tolerances, but will still injure her. While a certain voltage would kill a normal human, she will experience great pain and injuries. Strong enough sustained energy or elemental attacks would kill her. And she is completely prone to mental attacks as she has no defesnes against them.

        Physical - When faced with superior strength, she can be injured like a normal person in a fight. While her body and bones are stronger, they are not unbreakable.
