It's become a tradition at Katsucon for a group of friends and I to cosplay from Sailor Moon, hence last year's Luna costume. This year we decided to do casual outfits, and I happily moved up in the world to claim the role of my favorite senshi - Sailor Pluto aka Meiou Setsuna. I chose one of her outfits from the artbook, taking a few creative liberties to match what I was able to find in stores. "Ugly 90's floral print, makeup!" The maroon contacts I purchased weren't quite what I had expected, but I like that they are more of an earthy chocolate-maroon, if that makes sense. I completely ran out of time before the convention to appropriately style my wig and between the hack job I did in my hotel room and the 30 mph wind gusts, I'm a bit amazed it doesn't look like a rat's nest. Definitely starting from scratch next year, when I hope to cajole as many people as possible into god-awful blingy-bling Seramyu costumes. C:

Your wigs a really nice color. Where did you purchase it from?
Also, I think ugly 90's floral prints are coming back in style. Forever 21 was full of clothes that resembled stuff my poor Barbie had to wear when I was little.

Thanks for the comment! I bought the wig on eBay and it honestly left me a little bummed because the color wasn't as described or pictured (the "dark green" is much more teal in person). I'll definitely be starting from scratch for my Seramyu Pluto. And funny that you should mention Forever 21, as that's where my half my costume was purchased from.

Thank you! I'm definitely excited to do Seramyu costumes. I've loved those silly musicals for ages! I'm most interested in doing Pluto, but our group is still in the planning stages, so if there's someone else who would prefer to do her, I may switch to a character we don't have. Right now we're out a Jupiter and Neptune, neither of which I would mind doing.

I'm a bit surprised as well. We do have a Jupiter now, so we're down to just Neptune. Such a toss up for me, since I love Neptune almost as much as Pluto!
