I made this sand sculpture in the spring of '09 during the best vacation EVER. My family and I went to St. Kits and then spent an entire week doing almost nothing. I've never been to delightfully relaxed in my life. And the food was awesome too. <3Anyways! Sorry this isn't bigger, I have the original on my external harddrive somewhere but I'm at college now and ext. harddrive-less. So I only have the pics I saved to photobucket. :C Here's another angle for yer viewing pleasure:

You were much more creative -- and wow, this looks amazing. I like the smoothness it has and the features, you came up with a nice position for the big cat as well. :> Very nicely done -- seems like it was indeed a grand vacation

Just takes a bit of motivation is all. C: If you can just set aside some time early in the morning I'm sure you'll come up with something neat. It also helps if you dig the pit a day before so you have enough damp sand at your disposal before you get there.

Thank you. Cx It was just me, some sand, and a spork. Yay! Next time I'll try to be more legit and bring the essentials to sand sculpting: a FREAKING SHOVEL, a knife, and a bottle of hairspray. ;D

Trust me, it's legit. xD Keeps the sand sticking together so you have an easier time defying gravity.

Hairspray seems to help with a lot of stuff.
I used to use it to keep my pencil drawings from smudging.

Yeah, I don't use it for that, though I should. I don't use the aerosol kind so it doesn't work as well. Dx I do like a good fixative though, it's useful for other projects too, like trying to paint plaster....Which is a horrible idea, don't even bother. >___>;

Haha, well I once painted on a very rough garage wall with gloss paint (with which mixing colors is a PAIN) so I think I can relate somewhat x3

Niiice. I also made a dragon sculpture, but it took so long to make that the sun rose too high and dried it out. Then the wind off the ocean proceeded to drive the pointy bits of sand into my eyes... I'll try to find the pics.

Deserted beach? Lucky duck. XD I was able to spend a good five days at a public campground on the beach before flying here to college. It was crowded. :c

It wasn't usually deserted, but at that hour it certainly was. There weren't many people living in the area willing to walk out so far. It did attract a bit of attention as the day went on though, heehee.
