Description "The Sentinel is a one-man all-terrain bipedal vehicle, used by the Imperial Guard where mobile patrols must be mounted across rough terrain, or where firepower must be deployed rapidly in response to a threat. Sentinels are robust vehicles, able to negotiate terrain that would immobilise heavier battle tanks and armoured vehicles.

Sentinels become superb frontline units when they are modified with extra armour, able to stride through a deluge of weapons fire that would cripple or destroy a lighter insurgency walker... Armoured Sentinels are used as roving hunter-killer units, search and destroy teams that stalk enemy battle tanks and eliminate them with practised efficiency, plasma and lascannon fire slicing through the thickest ablative plating."

- Codex: Imperial Guard

Prior to the Liberation Campaign, Sentinels of the XXIst Lynnari were used primarily for drop troop support and scouting. The light weight of the Scout Sentinels meant that they were able to perform orbital insertion alongside the infantry, providing extra mobile firepower until larger vehicles made it to surface. Their speed and agility also made them perfect for long-range recon and patrolling.

Soon after the regiment's return to Lynndor, the Scouts revealed their inadequacy for urban fighting predominant to the campaign. Their superior maneuverability was negated by the rubble-strewn streets of Lynndor's hive cities, and their light armor was easily defeated by ambushing heavy weapons teams.

Nevertheless, the Sentinels' mobile firepower was a great boon to the troops. After some deliberation on how to adapt the vehicles to urban combat, the solution was presented by squadron commander 1LT Konstantine Reid. Following his advice, the remaining Sentinels were fitted with makeshift armor plate, and re-assigned as full-time fire support units.

Presently, the regiment includes two Armoured Sentinel squadrons. Squadron Raider One is an anti-tank hunter killer unit. Raider Two provides infantry support and assault capabilities.

Raider One-Two is a Cadian pattern Armoured Sentinel, piloted by 2LT Gunther Harme. Its autocannon packs less punch than its squadron mates' weapons, but enables it to better engage fast-moving light-armored targets and infantry.

This is an old edition Cadian Sentinel, with metal autocannon and armor plate. The model was really fun to build and paint. I had to re-touch it a bit, as some paint had rubbed off the metal surfaces. To make sure that this doesn't happen again, I put some varnish on the metal parts. I originally left the weapon side unattached to be able to see the interior. It kept falling off, so now only the top plate and the pilot are removable. The legs are semi-articulating.

I really miss the deep-striking Sentinels of the previous Codex.

Completed: way back. Assembly and painting: couple of hours. Acrylics on plastic, measures approx. 2.5''L x ''W x 3.75''H. Model and quote from Codex: IG by Games Workshop.

If you mean the orange muzzle break on the autocannon... well put, but no. Take a look at the weapons on my infantry, see if you can get the reference.

I realize that. But there's still a reference in the orange paint scheme. So far only two people got it.
