It is two thirty am. I just drew an Ashe...and Sephiroth was staring at me from his perch above my monitor (yes, I have a doll of him, cuz im' a nerd.) I enjoyed this picture, i figure you fellow Sephyphiles will enjoy it too.Pencil and paper.

This reminds me of something...a fan fic I'm collaborating with a friend right now. She's quite talented at portraying Sephiroth's persona/overall character accurately through writing.

I really admire your pencil skills here, that looks really nice. The anatomy is spot on and the texture is beyond lovely. What exactly did you use to make this, like how many different pencils or materials did you use?

I used a.9 and a .5 mechanical pencils with HB lead in them; the texture is caused by the softness of the lead on 67 lb bristol paper. I used a paper smudger (tortillon, rolled paper stick) for the skin. I scanned it; darkened it a little in photoshop cuz the scanner light tends to wash pencil out, then I burned the blackened leather parts in a little, cleaned up the background from incidental smears, and voila!

Yeah, I have actually been working on one thing from my head that I want to post today or tomorrow. I should do some real life drawing too, that would probably help my skills a lot and I haven't dont any of that since my college art class (a loooong time ago).
