C O M M I S S I O N - # 1 5 Title: "Fist of Stone"
Commission type: Character Illustration (on 8' x 11' Cardstock)
Total time: 2.5 hours
Cost: $30
I get to draw something martial arts related which was a nice change of scenery from the previous medieval inspired commission! Jaka wanted an illustration where his characters are demonstrating their powers to one another for comparison. This was the result!
Lao Tian's expression could have been improved. I wanted to give her that "Are you impressed now?" kind of look to her friend and sparring partner Grimmoro.

Pretty damn good work there, Elson.
There's only a few problems. You put a tad too much stripes on Lao's face since they follow a certain pattern
and she looks too rugged, but than again that's more my fault for not saying she's 17 years old (which is why she has the innocent look).
As for Grimmoro, he's a sperm whale, which is why he has the huge bulk on front of his head and no visible nose.
On the other hand he looks pretty damn ripped in the upper part, as a strongman should.
Well done and looking forward for more commission opportunities.

Ah most excellent feedback. Thanks for being honest with me on what you thought of my input.
As with most of the commissions I stick with a few deviations from the original (sometimes an almost complete change), only upon the request of my client will I stick exactly to the designs of the client's characters. = ) Hence the additional strips (which I based off from a real tigress) and a more humanoid look for the sperm whale Grimmoro.
And yes I do remember how you wanted Grimmoro to have a specific muscle build on his torso and pecs, I'm happy that it turned out just right.
