Description
I made a completely new model of the J-type starbase, this time buildign the "real" thing, the Vanguard. I think it is far more accurate than my previous mesh.I based the specular mapping on Doug Drexler's original mesh. It's more shiny than a ship, but after all, it's a Starbase...

Real nice work there, man! My only cvrit would be that those two ship classes would be long out of service by the mid-2260's (which is when Vanguard was constructed), wouldn't they?

Yeah, I had originally placed them a little earlier, but now I looked up their commission dates in the SFM. Based on those they mshould still be in service by the time Vanguard was constructed, albeit as support ships, complementing newer designs.
