Day 8 of our expedition leads us to the Nile River to encounter Ammit. Native to Egypt, despite having the mane of a lion, Ammit is a female. She is known as the Devourer of Souls, once a person dies, their morality is judged by Inpu, the god of funerals. He weighs the person's heart on a scale against an ostrich feather. If the heart is lighter than the feather, the person may enter the afterlife with no problem, but if the heart is heavier than the feather, Ammit eats it, causing the soul to die a second death.Be sure to follow my social media down below for news and more content.
