This painting is based on a reference photo that I own.

I don’t do watercolors, and 99.9% of what I do in general is in pencils (i.e., black in white). I have always been attracted to watercolors and the way they bleed and flow on a paper (I tried them briefly in 2010). But, as much as I wanted to give them a fair try for a very long time, I didn’t know from where to start or what to try which was very discouraging. Thinking too much was making me stare at my tools and then leave

I particularly didn’t want to paint a portrait. I love portraits and faces. But, it seemed to me that it is impossible for me to be able to make one in paint and I would be anxious and disappointed tbh.
In the end, I decided to paint something immediately and just go for it, I opened this reference and decided to paint it right away, and try to just be forgiving toward myself for whatever comes out of it.
I found myself sketching and painting the face in one go as I sunk into the process. Then, the idea started developing one by one.

Hopefully, I can try this again and improve slowly.
