Knuckles seems to have recovered well enough to walk. And the sun begins to rise in the morning...It's very tricky to capture the early hours of dawn, when doing a cartoony coloring scheme. On one hand, it's dark, and on the other, things just seem to have a glow to them. Really tough.

Excellent! Awesome comic page. The posing of the characters in each panel and the coloring, especially with the early is awesome! Having Mighty knocking down the tree Ruby was sitting in with his foot was excellent. Why do I think Mighty's in trouble again?
Can't wait to see the next installment of your comic, Dawn.

Words right outta Knux's mouth. And they really are true. Just how strong is Mighty? And why isn't he in any games wrecking on people nowadays? You could rock the world with that kind of strength just by takin' a step.

I'm not sure if I'm going to define how strong Mighty is in the course of this series. Suffice to say, he's fairly indestructible himself, if he can send a foot or a fist through a few layers of tree trunk without wincing... but I don't think he'd be able to lift that same tree completely off the ground.

Hmmm... normally to me (In the mountains of Utah) dawn usually looks like Dark Blue at the top of the skies, and a lighter shade of blue towards the sun. To me, blue and orange kinda looks like sunset instead of dawn. But... eh, who's complaining really, just plain blue would really be a mood killer for this page wouldn't it?
Anywho, out of all the pages, this one looks top notch girl, really loving how you did those clouds! You can finish this, I believe in ya!

I've always been fascinated by how the sun affects different parts of the country and the world. Pennsylvania mornings almost always start out cloudy, and as the sun comes up, they dissipate if it is to be a clear day. The clouds reflect the sun, and the horizon gets orange or red, even bright pink, before the sun is officially up. Southern California mornings usually start out the same as yours, dark blue, then blazing bright blue. But then, it's always clear there. Italy was very similar to PA, which makes sense considering it's not much lower on the northern hemisphere. Scotland, however, being so far up north, had those very late mornings (the sun would come up at around 9) and early evenings (sunset was 3 PM) and with all that darkness, and perpetual cloudiness, I honestly do not remember how the sun rose in the morning.

I agree. You did a great job with the colouring and capturing the morning sky. The only thing that seems odd to me is the tree falling in the opposite direction of the chunk that Mighty took out. I would have thought it would fall the opposite way. but then it IS a comic afterall, and for the sake of composition...
Man. Knuckles must have balls of STEEL. I know I'd be out for the count for WEEKS after a blow like that XD

Your style is very Spaz like ^^
I really respect the artistry and detail you put into it and not just go straight for the anime style that they're lately trying to force into the art is seems. To me, that just cheapens it. The art is 50% of the comic after all and not even good writing can save it usually if it doesn't look appealing.
But you have no problem with that. ^^

I'm starting to guess that from Ruby's perspective, she's not quite a guardian Knuckles - ie, being female, she cannot glide, neh?
Seems Nature was all kind to the males, but not exactly to the females (eh, that's the way the cookie crumbles, methinks). I draw this conclusion from a B&W you posted up earlier of Ruby clinging to Knuckles as they reunited with the Chaotix. Her attitude is one of a girl being contested for her place, being number one guardian of the island. Don't blame her really, seeing Knuckles in what should rightfully be her place in her mind would drive anyone to start kicking asses.
Ruby fascinates me as a Sonic-styled character, hon. She may look like just an ordinary female echidna, but underneath there's no contest as to who she is, what she's fighting for and a real show of her attitude. That and her markings - so complex yet look so simple
And Mighty gets his own back with a show of his strength. What became of the rock plan I wonder? XD

Different echidnas, different situations, I figure. You're absolutely right! She can't glide. She doesn't have the customary knuckle-claws either. I always reasoned, with the hugely varied lengths on her dreadlocks (the echidna equivalent of razor layered hair, I suppose, hehe) she couldn't be any less aerodynamic.
Of course, she does have those ultra-keen senses, which no doubt could rival, maybe even outdo those of Knuckles himself. I feel okay about spoiling things, since you're going to see them here anyway, if you really want to keep reading.

I thought so - I had noticed the dreadlock length and the lack of the 'mutation' knuckles on her hands, and I figured due to those and being a girl, she probably wouldn't be able to glide either. Her senses give her the edge over Knuckles however, something he could probably learn from in the long run.
I had figured you were going to keep the latter secrets until all was established in the comic. It keeps me and a lot of others begging for more. However, don't strain y'self doing these pages, neh? Give yourself a break after a page or two. *Mother Hen is I*

Well, they kinda forgot about him after Chaotix. He was one of the originals tho. I don't think, at least, the fans will soon forget about him.

He was in that one Sonic arcade game with the other hardly ever mentioned "honorary chaotic" Ray the flying squirrel. Then they added Julie-su as well. They basically have a small army of Chaotix now. I wonder what Knuckles' labor costs run him.

That Mighty sure is losing his cool over that Ruby girl. I don't know if I want to see him kick butt or get his butt kicked.
