Great piece. Really like the expression and the overall mood set by the colour scheme. The striking red wine in the blue environment is a nice touch.

But the angle between in the thigh/hip region seems a bit too sharp don't you think? Almost like it's a dislocated thigh joint.

You're right ! I think this zone was rushed. Thanks for your comment.

A princess in exile getting a smuggled message from home? The wine goblet is a nice touch as is her ambivalent expression. What is your impression of Krita 2.8dev so far?

Hey Griatch
2.8 is released now ; and it's -of course- the best Krita version so far. But the difference between 2.7 and 2.8 is probably as big as between 2.4 and 2.7 ; it's really a big jump forward.
Now Krita behave better in other compositing/windowing environment and with tablets. That's why I could move to Gnome desktop, keep default GPU windows effect and experience no slowdown.
On the feature side ; the smudge engine works better ; as well as many other brushes ; a lot of fixes were done ; the number of bug fixed is amazing. The list of new features also is really big.
So, it defintely worth a try if you can install it easily on your system. Next major change for future version will be mainly a system to work with multi document without having many Krita instance opened, and the Qt5 port/rewrite.
2.8 will certainly be a sort of L.T.S. release during the change.

I'm at 2.9 pre-alpha, using Linux Mint and a Krita PPA to get the latest.

It's certainly an improvement over older versions; I still cannot quite find how to do everything quite as easily as I can in GIMP (the process of adding text to the canvas is frankly weird and I'm yet to figure out how to clone a texture from a layer to another - or even how to load an image into a layer). But the brushes are really good and generally fast, which is the most important thing.

MyPaint remains the fastest and smoothest way to get painting quickly (for me its minimalism is a boon), but Krita is certainly more capable in the sense of offering more natural-painting style brushes.

I love the relaxed atmopshere of this, she seems so cool and collected but also a little wary of the message held by the drakelet. The drink is a nice touch along with the tattered hem of her skirt, gives it an edgy feel.

2.8? I thought it was all 2.7.5 or 2.9 these days, that's all the choices I've got. Did they release 2.8 stable already, or are you just being lazy in updating your dev build?

Not sure if they had that already in 2.8 but they have an overview docker in 2.9 (also known as navigator in other programs) really nice to have.

Anyways I like this picture, apart from the light blue drakeling (he seems to have a lot lighter colors and brighter lighting than everything else) you really managed to pull of a nice dark-fantasy theme here! and I love dark fantasy

thx!
Krita 2.8 is not released yet ; I'm testing 2.8 dev branch in depht before the release ( next week ? ) . I updated the description, sorry for the confusing label 'Krita 2.8' .
Overview docker is for 2.8

Ah so there's a 2.8 beta branch and the 2.9 alpha branch, confusing how they have many dev versions rolling at the same time

hehe, 2.9 branch doesn't exist yet. It's 'master' where all the new features of 2.9 are made right now.
2.8 is in a branch since December. The rule : String freeze ( no new text on the graphic user interface ) and solving all bugs only ( no new feature ).
This way it can be stable and let time to translator to translate all the new feature.

But the UI naming sense is Krita is a disaster  string freeze wasn't such a great idea after all.

I mean... "Select an area by it's outline" instead of just "Freehand Select" and "Select an area of contagious colors" instead of just "Magic Wand" and even "Dockers" instead of just "Windows" or "Menus"

I thought 2.8 was supposed to be released this month though, I'm kinda waiting for it cus I'm too lazy to manually build 2.8 (so until it's released I'm sticking with 2.9 pre-alpha release  since I can get that with 1 command on arch, no sweat, from AUR)
