My first artwork of the year *sniffsniff*Urania: The Greek Muse of Philosophy, Astronomy and Astrology
The globe, compass, and star-spangled cloak are all here... I just didn't have enough space for the turtle (she's stepping on one. lol.)

I couldn't resist showing a bit of face for this one, since I wanted to portray that dreamy, far away look and it was getting quite impossible with the mask on. Let's just say this "uncovering" is "discovering"...Urania is, after all, all about the quest for truth.
Oh, and yes, I believe philosophy is like bending over backwards...but hey, pilates is also good for your health.

Beautiful pose! I absolutely love the design and details in this picture! Also, for this being a traditional work its amazing. Most people wouldn't have the patients to do this.

The detail work on this makes me want to weep! It reminds me of blackwork, a hand embroidery of intricate black on white which has minute fine details much like this lovely piece! The costume design is magnificent! I love the "netting" around her waist and the drapery gathers are beautifully done!

This is a really gorgeous work of art; It looks great with the style you did it in, with only the soft hues in her body and the dark shading and background. It really brings her character out in the picture. Really awesome work, this came out really nice!

what a stunningly beautiful way to depict a muse. Your ink work is just exquisite, I could quite happily stare at your pictures for longer than is healthy! Hugely inspirational, so you nailed the muse aspect of it!
