The crows (or were they ravens?) dogged his footsteps, as they always did. Any moment now one was going to ask him for an eyeball. Again. But he would ignore them and keep going. Eventually, he swore to himself, he would find his way out.***
Yes, yes, very occasionally I do non-digital work. This one was specially commissioned.
Alasdair McBride, a character from my original comic "Eversummer Eve" (which is in the process of being re-imagined into a new and better form). This is Alasdair's new look for the re-imagined comic.
media: Micron pens, brush pens, Copic markers
Unfortunately the scanner did not pick up the colours very well, over-emphasizing the pinks and lightening the black marker bits too much so that they don't look like proper dark blobs of pigment. I played around with multiple Photoshop settings to compensate, but apparently my Photoshop-fu is not as advanced as it needed to be. Ah, well.

Ah wow. As a long time fan of your art and of that story and character in-particular, its nice to know its not entirely out-of-sight-out-of-mind.
That said, gorgeous work. You've improved over the years, especially your coloring style. I love how dynamic the pose is, and the way you colored the boots is fabulous.

Thanks!! It's really nice to know that my characters and story are still remembered. ^__^ I've been practicing a lot of different things and doing five squijillion tons of research over the past months, and hopefully all this will pay off when the story restarts in its new form.

I really like the picture. Also I'm very glad to hear you're going to continue the comic. I personally liked it very much. I followed it when it still was on wirepop, wich was three years ago I think. I remember because I was in the third year then and there was someone I also avoided and I always went: 'I'm a ninja, I'm a tree, I'm a ninjatree!!!'
Now I'm a senoir and that has become a fond memory ^-^
