Description Just some more practice using the mental ray renderer in 3DS Max 2013 and the daylight lighting. Also tried a tutorial I found for the water that looks fairly good.
Model is a free U-Boat model from Bazze. I do like the lighting in this one.

Thanks. Been looking at how to get a wake to work using this method now for some other render ideas.

I'm starting to think I should switch from Maya to Max. Some of my friends use it and the host of a 3D printing seminar I went to near Flinders St touched on about it.

Ah neat. A friend of mine is actually modelling Flinders Street Station for Trainz and so far it's looking pretty good.

Maya is good for animation I've heard. I use 3DS Max mostly because it has much greater support when it comes to game SDKs which is essential when most of your modelling is for particular games.

That's cool, I hope to see it one day when I'm in the city again.

Oh! What are SDKs if you don't mind me asking?

The ones for Auran/N3Vs Trainz series of games and Microsofts Flight Simulator X along with models for Unity primarily.
