Description It was becoming more and more frequent lately, that Persephone found herself in the arms of her close friend, Riot. The tan gro had been one of her best friends ever since they were little. Now, he also seemed to be the only one who wasn't mad at her. Sure, she knew she never had a chance to even explain what had happened to Pascal and April, but she didn't think it would matter. They were right to be mad at her. They probably hated her, and she deserved it.

Still, she was happy at least there was someone who didn't think she was horrible. However, he also didn't know her shameful secret. She had made sure she never let him know about her child, and how she had let Ares take her away. Even though she knew Riot was curious, she was still too worried to tell him the details.

So here she was once again, crying while clinging to her friend. Riot had come over once again, with some new recipes that he had tried, and a small stack of books. Even though she tried not to this time, she had ended up crying once again. If she was being honest, she hated this. Persephone hated that she was so weak, and that all she could do was cry into Riot, and let him comfort her.

As her tears seemed to slow down, Persephone mumbled a weak apology to Riot. He said he didn't mind, but she wondered if it was true.

"You know, I know whatever is hurting you must be bad, but you can tell me anything." Riot told her. He had said this so many times, and each time, Persephone shook her head and rambled out a bunch of reasons as to why she couldn't tell him. Today though, she just sat there. She let herself be lost in thought before looking up at him.

"How can you be so certain that no matter what I say, that it will still be ok? What if I had done something terrible? You can't be certain I haven't. So how can you just tell me that I can confide in you, when you don't know how horrible my actions were?" Persephone asked. She clung a little tighter, as if Riot would get up and leave just from her thinking about her horrible deeds, but he didn't move.

Instead, he hugged her a little tighter, which already made Persephone feel more relaxed. Her head was pressed against his chest, and the sound of his heartbeat was soothing for her.

"Well, cause I know you. You're my friend, and you have been hurting for too long. Whatever this is, you definitely think it's bad and that you are being forced to punish yourself for it. I just can't help but wonder, haven't you punished yourself long enough? Maybe I can help even. You know you're not alone. I know you said your brother was mad at you, but he definitely still cares too. If you let us, we would be willing to help you, but only if you're ready to tell us what's wrong." Riot explained, all while gently rubbing her back, right next to her wings.

He was right. Persephone hated herself for what had happened. She blamed herself for being weak, and letting herself be tricked by that gro. She hated that she had been used, and that she didn't even try to fight back to defend herself from that monster. When she had gotten free, she hated that she was too weak to even care for her own child. Never once, did she even ask Ares what had happened when he dropped off the little yellow wyngling at the nook. She never went to Alma, and ask if that little girl was ok. If she ran into her own child tomorrow, she wouldn't even know it. Persephone realized that she had been so distraught back then, all she could remember now was that her daughter was yellow, but had red eyes.

"If I tell you, you'll think I'm stupid. I... I want to tell you though. I made such a horrible mistake, and I hurt others with it because I was foolish and naive." Persephone told the tan gro as more tears started to fall. Riot immediately moved to wipe her tears, and smile at her.

"I won't think you're stupid. Just tell me what happened." Riot assured her once more. Persephone sighed, as she tried to compose herself. She hadn't told anyone, not even Ares, how it happened. She was ashamed and embarrassed, but she knew now she needed to share this.

"It all began when I met this gro, and he told me he needed help with something..."

Here I was, heart swelling with pride that Persephone was finally able to talk about her problems, trying to think of some response I could make, and then I look at the unedited version and lose it.   Perfect content all around.

On a more serious note though, it is really great to see Persephone progressing, and I hope she will continue to get better.
