Description I fooled with the color (PS, color channels) in this photo. Somehow, it makes me think of the 1950s, faded away a lifetime ago.

Thank you so much, Kathleen! I had a good time fooling around with the colors in this one.

I have taken photo's of corn stalks before and this really knocks me out! What amazing detail you've got here - the composition is just stellar.

Thanks, Chris. I just had to mess with the color! But I was totally amazed at the look I stumbled onto. I'm glad I changed the original image, which was rather dull to begin with. Glad you like!

I love it. I've taking shots of stalks and in my minds eye they look so much better than the photograph I take - I'm glad you had the thought to take it up a notch in PS - but I think your original shots composition was really the foundation there!

Thanks! I guess the stalks are the maintstay of the composition, but the original colors were kind of blah. The sky was gray, and that didn't help things a lot!

Interesting effect. And yes, I thought it was digital art, too. Wouldn't have thought it was a photo. The light in this is great.

Thank you! I've been studying all sorts of light and coloring effects on photos (using Photoshop), even committing some of the changes to "actions" (macros)so they'll come out the same way time after time. Unfortunately, I didn't capture this one, but I'll try to duplicate it.

Thank you, Edie. I was very curiously drawn to this. I wasn't going to post it, but I kept looking and liking, so I changed my mind. I love to fool with light, color and textures!

Thank you, Rock. The whole color thing is something that was an unexpected surprise! Taking pix on cloudy days can yield great rewards sometimes. In the untouched pic, the sky was so much grayer and drab. I didn't like that too much.

Thank you, Lori. It was the first time I've used colors like that in a photo. Usually I try to brighten things up, but that's about all. I really did a lot of tweaking and experimenting with this one (using "channels" in Photoshop). I was so surprised when I got those highly unusual shades. This has gotten a few nice comments, which is even more surprising (I thought it would fall flat, but who knew?)

Thank you, Thelma. I really do remember seeing these kinds of colors back then; soft greens, beiges, and rose colors were very popular here!

Thank you very much! Around where I live, soft/drab greens, beiges, browns, and rose colors were very popular in the 1950s. Colors were very muted, but we thought they looked cool! Now I think they look kinda weird; that's why I posted this one.

Thank you, Jenn. It's very different from my usual stuff, isn't it! I liked it, though. Sometimes when I like something, it's a kiss of death. This time, though, others seem to like it, too.

Thank you very much for the nice compliment! This was one that I really liked, despite myself (it's out of the ordinary compared to what I usually do). I'm glad that it's being well received by other people, too--I'm not always the best judge of my own work.
