It is! They are about the earliest bloomers around here, although I've seen camellias in full bloom in yards around the neighborhood. I had forgotten that they too seem to flourish quite well in winter and spring!

None left here.. Something killed them off.. Not sure what.. I need to put some more in this fall..

If you mean the snowdrops, it could be voles, moles, or squirrels that dug them up and ate them. Those animals really like plant bulbs.

Probably the squirrels.. If I neglect to feed them they tear my garden apart..

Those little rascals! My mom used to call them rats with pretty tails...she said if it weren't for their cuteness, they'd be wiped out by mankind. My parents had a love/hate relationship with squirrels. They were always cute and playful but very destructive. Dad trapped several and removed them to a park that was about 2 miles away. Yet he always had more squirrels the next day, it seemed.

There is a huge black walnut tree across the street from us.. No way to get rid of them and they are soooo cute.. They and the rabbits never leave me any strawberries.. I have netting this year.. We'll see.. probably won't help..

We used to have strawberries, too (50 years ago!). But we had a big problem with turtles eating them. They would take one bite out of each ripe berry. Ugh!

Thanks, Jim. That's what's going on now, but spring is still in the earliest stages. In a month or so, it will great!

Thanks! My flowering snow crabapple tree is once again in bud, so I'm very cheered by that. It's the first tree to bloom in our wee little yard!

Nothing blooming here yet, but it was nice to see it very light outside at 7pm

Yes, it sure was! It's kind of hard to get used to, though; I always get discombobulated around daylight savings time changes!

I haven't seen these in many many years.... wonderful memory...

I actually love the flat lighting on this image too - I always remember snowdrops in rather grey overcast conditions... rarely directional sunlight - reserved for the likes of Irises, Daffs and Crocuses....

It was pretty cloudy the day I photographed these. We have had very few really sunny days lately; mostly rain and more rain! I got some great flood pictures though! I'll post 'em soon!

Thank you! Snowdrops are about the earliest bloomers, along with some bright yellow flowers that I don't know the name of (lol), and of course, crocus!

LOL I'm like that... not knowing the names I know jonquils because they are March's flower.

I would rather photograph the flower than know what it's called, to be quite honest!
