Description I have been wanting to draw this ever since I read/watched Animal Farm by George Orwell with the 1954 movie being one of my new favorite movies of 2023.

If anyone were to ask who was my favorite character from the story would be, for me it would be Boxer. Boxer, is a horse who worked on Manor Farm for a long time and was part of teh rebellion the animals set to get rid of Farmer Jones. Boxer is strong, hard-working and is one of the NICEST characters in the story with his only flaw being that he was blindly-sighted by the pigs' specifically Napoleon's manipulations. This, plus his dedication to working hard, gets him injured from overworking so hard and later, in the most saddest scene, being sold to the glue factory by the pigs in exchange for more alcohol.

He represented the working class who worked hard only to be betrayed, specifically Alexey Stakhanov who worked double-time(though Stakhanov was able to retire).

I then remembered ANOTHER character from a literature work which has almost similar themes. One of my all time favorite books Lord of the Flies.

My favorite character in the book is Simon. Simon, one of of the boys stranded on the island is more introverted and more quiet compared to the others. He spends his days going to his secret place in the jungle and admiring its beauty. However, when the boys discuss the matters of a "beastie" that's been roaming around and terrifying the others, he says that there is no literal beast. After a terrifying hallucination where he conversates with the Lord of the Flies and when he discovered the "beast" is a corpse of a man in a parachute, he ends up being mistaken for the beast by the other boys at a bonfire ceremony and is killed. His corpse is then dragged away through the ocean.

He represents the innocence that people have inside of them that should be preserved, but at the same time should be let out more. He also represents the kindness that people have inside of them as he is kind to his fellow boys. He also has a Christian like symbolism too given that his conversation with the Lord of the Flies is symbolic in a religious sense(theLord of the Flies is a reference to Beezlebub which is another name for the Devil).

Here is Simon and Boxer meeting in Heaven having both reached the pearly gates. Boxer would be hesitant to trust Simon, but Simon assures him that he's not going to hurt him and gives him a pet. Boxer smiles softly as he begins to understand that not all humans are bad.

R.I.P Simon and Boxer, no one, man or beast, boy or pig, can hurt you now.

*I also made a reference to C.S Lewis's third Narnia book for the title.
