Description
Sporus was a young beautiful eunuch whom the Roman Emperor Nero favored and married to him."[Nero] had a boy named Sporus castrated and tried to transform him into an actual woman; he married him in a regular wedding ceremony, with a dowry and a bridal veil, took him home in front of a great crowd, and treated him as his wife."
"He gelded the boy Sporus, and endeavoured to transform him into a woman. He even went so far as to marry him, with all the usual formalities of a marriage settlement, the rose-coloured nuptial veil, and a numerous company at the wedding. When the ceremony was over, he had him conducted like a bride to his own house, and treated him as his wife.
This Sporus he carried about with him in a litter round the solemn assemblies and fairs of Greece, and afterwards at Rome through the Sigillaria, dressed in the rich attire of an empress; kissing him from time to time as they rode together." (Suetonius, The Twelve Caesars, Nero, XXVIII).

Yeah.... BTW, in the book "Acté of Corinth" by Alexandre Dumas, Sporus was the twin brother of Sabina Poppaea. Nero married Sporus when Sabina died at the hands of Nero. There is little written about Sporus, sadly... but it is interesting to read.

So beautiful and so full of tragedy. His poise is full of grace and acceptance...with an unfortunate gaze full sorrowful resolve. How unfortunate he is only remembered for Nero' s insanity.

Thank you, darling! Yes, it's very sad story, given that he committed suicide when the subsequent emperor of Rome wanted to dishonor him publicly. Sporus could not bear such a disgrace and therefore preferred death.
I do not know how he was in reality, but I prefer to believe that he was a sensitive and tender person, with a sense of honor and at the same time accepting himself as he is.
