Dear ST,
You're not alone in that boat.
No matter what happens, we'll be okay.

I know what you mean, sometimes it's hard to dig yourself out of an emotional hole. Try thinking about the positive things in your life, it'll help loads.

There's no such thing as "real" problems. There's only problems, period. The size of your problems also depend on yourself. Don't compare yourself to other people, because you are you and they are they.

forget other people, it's how YOU react to the problem, and how YOU feel.
If something bothers you, if it matters to YOU, then it's important. What other people consider an issue or not an issue is, well, their issue.
And you are only failing school if you think you are failing school. Suck that low self-esteem down, hold your head up high, and just try ANYWAY. It's worth it. If it helps, talk to a teacher (a nice one preferably..) and they will help you catch up with the work you can't do, and help you feel better about yourself and cope with the workloads.
Self-pity is fine, as long as you accept that after spending that time feeling shit, you're gonna do something about it if you can. The people around you will help. Your family and friends care about you, they will want to be able to help. I've found that it helps me to get out of my self-pitious ways to talk to someone else and help them, y'know, like, be kind to someone. Think of all the different things I am grateful to have today. Just little things that help you feel better about yourself.
And for the record, this secret doesn't suck. You're a human being, like the rest of us. And we humans, we'll get through.

A lot of people get like that.
The fact you realise your problems maybe aren't as bad as others, show you're caring.
This secret is wonderful

If you feel bad about failing school, having the lowest self-esteem and being paranoid, those 3 are real problems for you to solve.
Actually, I have quite low self-esteem and I am paranoid. But recently, even I hate myself about it, I would regret if I don't try to be happy. Please, don't try to compare yourself and other people...because that's what I've been doing...you may be able to stop it now.

you remind me a lot of a friend.
you'll get through. its not a crime to feel sorry for yourself now and again. but dont forget the more important things. you'll be right.

This could be my secret, except for me, it isn't very secret and I dropped out of school earlier this year.
If you need someone to talk to, I can listen and understand.

"Only" failing school? ST, even if other people have bigger problems, the fact is, your problems are still important. I don't know your situation, but you might be able to get help if you really want to succeed.

Comparing your problems to others' blows things out of proportion. :/
Yours are very real and make mine seem trivial and stupid.

But whomever said this is right, thinking you dont have real problems doesnt help.
I am such a hypocrite

I understand. And of course telling yourself other people have it worse doesn't help.
It only makes you feel more like you don't deserve even the good shit in life.

Everyone has problems; that doesn't make yours any less important.
But instead of just complaining about them and feeling sorry for yourself, maybe you should work to fix them.
