Description

I bet none of you were expecting this comeback, huh?

Like, I really didn’t want to go back to being Petehiru trash, but the impulse was just too strong. Even more than ten years later, I still can’t shake off the feeling that they would have an adorable dynamic. I think there's a story to be told there, about how they could meet, work past their worldview differences and find a common ground, ultimately falling in love in the process. I've become so invested in this ship over the past few months that I've started developing all sorts of ideas, including two fanfics. One of them, the more canon-compliant one, is meant to show how Ahiru would come to Neverland, turn back human, and meet Peter. This is a big moment in that story concept; a pas de deux in the stars as a love confession (I mean, this is Princess Tutu we’re talking about), after Peter comes to terms that he’s in love, and that, no, it’s not necessarily an adult feeling. I gave Ahiru a brand new outfit, with elements from both Tutu and her original duck form; it’s supposed to be her official Neverland resident/“Lost Girl” attire, which she starts wearing after moving in with Peter and the Lost Boys. The golden ballet slippers are actually embellished with pixie dust, so Ahiru can fly on her own, without needing Tinker Bell’s assistance.

The title is taken from the song "What You Mean to Me", from the Finding Neverland musical, and I fully admit some of the visual inspiration for this came from the Fairy Dance  scene in the 2003 Peter Pan movie, even though I’ve never actually seen it nor do I have plans to.
