Description
In the alicorn world, Queen Opaline Arcana reflects on the sudden appearances of the rainbow angels, worrying the hope and love will soon invade their world. Two alicorns watch as she destroys a reflection of Wedding Rainbow and they soon run away. They stop as they see Dark Blue electrocuting Misty. She asks for forgiveness, but is disciplined for her recent failings defeating the rainbow angels. Dark Blue continues to torture her, building up his power by making Misty develop his hatred.

At Rainbow Junior High, the girls discuss using a front cover for the newspaper, displaying a image of Captain Leo on the computer monitor. Rainbow Sparkle questions if they should be using pictures of him as they have numerous times in the past. Lily takes one of the photos out of Rainbow's hand and holds up a picture of Shield Wing, with the two girls presuming she wants him to be on the cover. Rainbow Sparkle gets annoyed at their teasing and throws the photo into the trash, making an excuse of holding the picture by chance. It's then that a student named Sunny Starscout comes in to ask something.

Outside at the soccer field, she shows Rainbow Sparkle a love letter and asks if she could deliver it for her. Rainbow Sparkle, happy for Sunny asks her who the letter is for. She reveals it’s for Shield Wing, making her grow quiet. She asks again and Rainbow Sparkle agrees to do it. Sunny continues by saying that she doesn’t know if Shield Wing has any interest in her and at the least wants him to know someone like her is out there. She leaves and hands the letter to Rainbow Sparkle. As she stares at the letter, her friends appear behind her, asking if she’s okay handing over the letter to Shield Wing, to which she denies having any kind of relationship with him. A soccer ball suddenly hits her in the face and knocks her down. Shield Wing goes to check on her, but she gets up and and chases him in anger. Misty Brightdawn is seen hiding behind one of the sinks, plotting to sabotage Rainbow Sparkle's relationship with Shield Wing.

After school, Rainbow Sparkle is seen sitting by a river as she waits for Shield Wing. He appears, asking her the reason for waiting for him and teasing her. She hands him the letter, angrily explaining it’s from Sunny Starscout. The two get into a fight and shout names at each other. Misty watches the two from above and goes into Shield’s body once Rainbow Sparkle walks away. Shield gets her attention and pins her down once she turns around. She manages to push him away and takes out the Rainbow Mirror to find Misty possessing him. Shield slaps her mirror away and keeps pinning Rainbow Sparkle down once again, hoping to attract the rainbow angels.

Meanwhile, Lily and Calina are seen by a claw machine to try and win a stuffed animal. Lily claims she can see into the future and instructs Calina to put the claw in a certain position. As they successfully grab on to the stuffed animal, it falls back into the machine, debunking her intuition.

Rainbow Sparkle continues to be pinned down by Misty and loses her strength. She then thinks about the memories of her and Shield Wing, causing her to emit her hope and love. This weakens Misty's power and loosens his tight grip on her. Determined not to lose, Misty's evil energy causes Rainbow Sparkle to fly back and Shield Wing to fall to the ground. Misty comes out of Shield's body having grown bigger and proceeds to use her magic to turn Shield Wing into a food where she could eat him. Rainbow Sparkle finds her mirror and quickly transforms into her wedding dress.

Misty launches her negative power towards Rainbow, to which she counters it by using "Operation: Hope and Love." She continues to send her hope and love as she reminds Misty of the love she felt a few moments earlier, feeling the pain she had felt. This causes her to lose her power, causing her to get smaller in size and be purified as her eyes change from red to green, but her mane and tail color remains the same as she'll have her makeover later. Misty is then suddenly struck by Dark Blue's evil energy and appears in front of both of them. He criticizes her as the battle was supposed to be a important turning point in the war between the angels and the alicorns. Questioned by this, he explains to Rainbow the eventual destruction of the rainbow world once they obtain the Crystal Heart. He goes to attack her with his negative energy. She avoids the attack and transforms into hero mode.

As Dark Blue jumps after her, Rainbow uses her Rainbow Kick, hitting his sword in the process. Misty goes to Dark Blue to help her, but is smacked away. Before he can discard of her with his power, Rainbow jumps in the way to save her, striking her as a result. Dark Blue takes this to his advantage and intensifies his negative energy on her.

Still at the claw machine, Lily senses the situation and tells Calina that Rainbow is in danger as Dark Blue continues to torture her. Rainbow looks towards Shield Wing and apologizes for getting him involved. Angel Hope and Creative come to rescue her and transform into hero modes. They use their Creative Crayon Attack and Hope Rainbow, both of which Dark Blue avoids and flees soon after. Hope goes to check on Rainbow and they find Shield Wing to only be unconscious. She tells the two she saved Misty, but finds her nowhere in sight and becomes concerned of her.

The next day, Sunny Starscout comes to Rainbow Sparkle, showing her a letter she had received back from Shield Wing. To herself, Rainbow gets annoyed at him for writing back to Sunny's letter and accuses him. Sunny offers her to look at his answer, to which she assumes he had always liked Sunny Starscout. She goes to turn around to see what he wrote, but is shocked to find he rejected her and writes soccer as his friend. This makes Sunny have a greater interest in him and leaves, thanking Rainbow Sparkle again. She then laughs hysterically, thinking that he will never get a love letter again. Shield Wing then walks by insulting her, making her angry and chasing after him. Lily and Calina appear, mentioning their relationship. Rainbow Sparkle then pops up on the screen, concluding she dislikes Shield, but someday she'll change her mind.
