Description Painting was inspired by the painting of Ellen Terry as Lady MacBeth by John Singer Sargent. Painting took the course of about two weeks to paint. It would have been finished sooner, but my dad suffered a stroke which put this piece on hold.

Don't worry about my dad, he's recovered nicely. He needs to get back into the habit of swallowing food, but for the most part he's doing great.

I'll probably have canvas prints of this painting available through my Etsy soon enough.

Oh wow, very sorry to hear of your father's recent health situation.  I'm very glad to hear he's going to be okay, from the sounds of it.  He sounds like a strong person.  I'm sending my thoughts and prayers his way.  Hoping he continues to pull through.

As far as the painting goes, this is one of my newest favorites you've ever done.  You've done well here in encompassing a lot of the game's color palette into this inspired take on Midna.  Makes me wonder if that's the original headpiece she wore in her Imp Form, considering it was broken to pieces by Ganondorf in the game.  Really love how the brush strokes come together in this particular painting, too.  You've added a lot more dimension to your subjects over time, helping them to pop off the canvas that much more.  Overall, some time definitely spent nicely.

Hey Bowser, thanks for the support. My dad is doing much better. He's basically fully recovered, with the exception of him having to be careful when swallowing his food. He's already back to work, though it took convincing to get him to agree to recuperating time to begin with. He literally tried to get back to work the very first Monday after being admitted in the hospital and argued with the doctors about when he could be released.

Anyway, regarding Midna, this was supposed to depict her before the whole Zant uprise. Midna makes it evident that she carries the headpiece on her person. The idea is that this painting captures her in those moments when she seems especially power hungry and tempted.

That's fantastic news! I'm really happy he's improved a lot and is eager to get back to doing things he most enjoys. Sounds like he's quite the hard worker--gotta admire that spirit in people. Good to know he has people like you in his life that also look out for him.

Ah, might've missed that detail. It's been awhile since I brushed up on my Zelda lore. You don't see many depiction of Midna before the events in the game, so I enjoy seeing you explore such time periods in your works.

It was a really brief cut scene. It features Midna barely transformed in her impish form. She immediately holds out her hand and you see the headpiece appear to grow out of nowhere. So it's implied that she has had it in her possession long before she set off the find the other pieces. It was mentioned for a while that the Twili used to be bitter against the Hylians and tempted for revenge. Supposedly she used to harbor these feelings as well. This was supposed to show her just as tempted as the rest.

Anyway, thanks for the support, and I hope you had a chance to see my latest piece on Marth.

Heh, no wonder I missed it then, it was definitely something you can miss out on easily if you don't catch it.  I like the fact you combined lore from both the game as well as your own take on the lore as well, in that case.  Minda had a great theme of vengeance she was seeking, so it's definitely a treat to see you incorporate that a bit into her expression too.

Any time dude.  Yeah, I've seen the painting.  Haven't gotten a chance to comment yet, been playing catch-up the past few days.  Will take a look when I get a chance to, for sure.
