Description "Do not whisper to the wind,
For wind blows far and deep,
Right down into the shadow land
Where evil creatures sleep.
The echo of thy uttered word
Can wake them, make them creep!"

by Rayne Avalotus

I miss Europe... and its tales and legends.
I am afraid I cut my own roots too deep...

You are most kind, I am glad you like it! I neglected my tarot deck lately, ut I still hope to finish it one day Β

I encourage you to complete it, you're a fantastic artist & I love your interpretation of the Tarot.Β  Btw, I performed a reading for you if you'd like to see it. Normally I wouldn't do that, but it just seemed like the right thing to do. I placed it in an LibreOffice Impress file if you'd like to see it. If not, that's OK.Β  Either way I am very impressed by your artistry.

Thank you kindly, you motivate me to finish it I am surprised I was under impression a person needs to shuffle the deck in order for you to place a reading for them . But still I am interested with what you come up

Well, you are right, normally the person does shuffle the cards, and has a specific question or concern.Β  I have no idea how shuffling works when distance is involved & nor could I guess what your concern / questions would be. It just seemed like a good idea, like it needed to be done, so I didn't question it and gave it a shot. Again, I do not usually read like this, andΒ  before anything else, I want you to know it seemed really positive. The deck I used is the Vision Quest Tarot.Β  I have around a half dozen decks, this one just seemed appropriate. I'll send you a note. & i'm awed and humbled if i've motivated you-your Tarot is impressive.. and you are very talented!

Thank you, I will read it during the weekend, when I clear my head from tedious mundane reality.
The problem with my deck is that after 2 years of break, instead of continuing, I would rather re-do the cards I had already drawn

hhunt48 In reply to Doberlady [2014-08-16 04:12:16 +0000 UTC]

i hope you like the reading.Β  I think the .ppt is better than the .odp, which is weird, since i made it using LibreOffice, not MS.Β  On the Black Deck...Sometimes it is better to start over.
Tarot, like our selves, is ever-changing.Β  Maybe the some of the seeds planted 2 years ago are ready to yield new fruit...Β  I don't think you should feel obligated or locked into completing something if it resonates differently now.Β  It doesn't invalidate your efforts or your artistry. The cards you have created will not lose their power-because the energies will be renewed and transformed into whatever creation(s) you feel needs expressing.Β  If you knew how many stories and writings I have started, never to finish...how many characters I have stranded in ink & ether...you will not lose the Black Deck; only transform it.

Thank you for your kind words. I hope you are right. I like to finish things that I started, I feel compelled too, I feel if we leave things half done, then we wasted time... i cannot help it, this is how I was raised. I am much appreciated you took time and effort to read cards for me. I replied to your email

Oh the mood ) Amongst the things which I like here one stands out - it's the tone value.
You're really good at it.
And don't worry about your roots - sometimes one can find the greatest treasures of his/hers
own culture at the end of the world (especialy when somebody hails from Poland which you do
from what I can tell).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Doberlady In reply to Searleit [2012-10-19 07:51:28 +0000 UTC]

Thank you.
Mood is very important for me when I draw, sometimes it is more important for me to convey a specific mood, than make it technically correct, and the light and shadow right. I am glad my drawing projects a tangible mood.

And about roots... I miss Europe... Its culture, rich history, architecture of towns and cities, cultural diversity, TV channels, plants and trees, everything and people I knew most of all. I lived in Ireland for 4 years and it was fine. It was still Europe. But New Zealand is simply too different and too far away...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Searleit In reply to Doberlady [2012-10-21 09:37:44 +0000 UTC]

Yes, and the mood is something very important (atleast for me) when it comes
to drawing. I know what you're talking about - I live in middle Europe all my
life, and thou I'll probably move west/overseas in the future there's nothing
like here (all those things you say + legends of old which I love).

I agree one hundred percent
...and sorry for my late answer.
Bu the way it is hard to draw dark, gothic pieces when a palm tree in 30 degree heat blossoms right outside of your window

Long, about 2 weeks.

But I usually watch discovery when I draw, and since I an fix my eyes on one thing at a time... it make the process longer.

It usually takes me 3 - 4 evenings between 4-8 hours each to do a full drawing with background and all details

Thank you
