Waterhorse, hippocampus? I dunno what they are called. I like mermaid pony best
I love this little cutie. Especially the little starfish in her hair! She was a commission so sorry she is not for sale.

kelpies are Celtic, as are waterhorses, and hippocampi (the plural of hippocampus) are Greek. so it could be any of these or more! it really just depends on where the creature would have originated. not to be corrective, I just don't have many opportunities to tell people these things.

oh yeah, they were terrible monsters, but then again so were gryphons, dragons, werewolves, phoenixes, and tons of other things that I happen to love reading about.

If you like mythological creatures, maybe you should check out a cartoon called Huntik: Secrets and Seekers. its about titans, which, throughout history, inspired local legends, such as gargoyles, dragons, werewolves, such things. the show takes the protagonists all the way around the world, so they get to see (and almost get killed by) a ton of stuff from legends all over the globe. even norse mythology is taken care of.
