Speedpainting I did because I realized I'd missed 's birthday, and because I wanted to practice mechanical rendering. I am not very good at it, but I learned some things with this. I did a "monster creation" technique, taking 15 minutes to thumbnail, pick a thumbnail and use the remaining 45 minutes to render.I don't know about you, but I'd like to read the story behind this thing, and I'm hoping this gives some inspiration to my friend.

I'm the administrator of a Steam group called Clockwork Hounds' Forest, and we were looking for a nice related picture to use as the group's avatar. We came across your drawing by quickly googling and since it looks so fitting, we were wondering if could use it. Ooh, very cool...The first thing I thought of when I saw this was the Mechanical Hound in Fahrenheit 451.

Very awesome! Your style really lent itself well to a mechanical but lively looking creature. That plug tail looks like it was made for whipping around in a hearty wag, and blue and gold color schemes are always my favorite fom you.

In order to draw mechanical animals like this in a way they MIGHT work one has to know not only the skeleton of an animal, but also the function and position of tendons, muscles and joints. Good job.

Reminds me of this AI from a movie about a mission to mars. The AI is called AMI and it's built in the shape of a cheetah/dog type animal. It tries to kill everyone because it gets corrupted from damage.
I like this guy, he's pretty cool.
