Birthdate: 30th of September
Nature: Serious
Summary Characteristic: Good Perseverance
Occupation: Police Officer
Moveset:
Fling (Distant Admiration)- Using a darkness within her, Deevee empowers her hands with enough energy to throw objects at greater speeds and distances than what is normally possible. She uses her custom rifle to further take advantage of this, imbuing it with the same power for even greater speed, precision, and efficiency.
Pain Split (Dear Agony)- Deevee conjures a voodoo doll that represents either her or her target, whoever is less injured, and she stabs the doll, which equally distributes the amount of life force the two have together, healing and revitalizing one while inflicting pain and fatigue on the other.
Recycle (As Things Were Before)- Recalling the energy of the last object she carried in her hand, Deevee conjures it back in her grasp provided the object is small enough, be it a berry, a held item, the TV remote, or ammunition for her weapon.
Substitute (I Am Beside Myself)- Cutting a portion of her life force, Deevee creates a perfect copy of herself that she uses as a diversion, or as a shield, making flanking attacks, aiming attempts, or escape plans much easier to pull off.
Personality:
Serious- Though jokes can be good to crack every once in awhile to the average person, Deevee does not appreciate them. She will scoff, or simply ignore most attempts at being lighthearted. She doesn't smile, she doesn’t reciprocate joy, nor does she seek entertainment.
Pessimistic- Having grown up to hate herself and most things around her, Deevee usually expresses a cold attitude towards everything. She will tend to use harsh language, and does not sugarcoat any situational assessment or criticism. She does not accept compliments either, and expects the worst out of people or a given scenario.
Solitary- Asocial at heart, Deevee tends to avoid social interaction and conversation like second nature. She stays away from crowds and social gatherings, and finds meeting with friends a difficult routine to keep up with. Though she tries to mitigate this as much as possible by actively trying to meet people on occasion, it gets tough and old habits tend to die hard.
Stubborn- Those close to her will find it difficult to make Deevee change her mind, whether it be about a plan of action, an outlook on life, or even something as simple as her attitude or the way she speaks. Though her stubbornness makes her adamant in her beliefs and plays an important part in her persevering personality, it also makes it difficult for herself to change as a person.
Protective- Being both a Gardevoir and a police officer, Deevee is naturally protective of the people around her. Stemming from her time as an older sibling, Deevee will go as far as to put herself in harm’s way with no hesitation to ensure the safety of the citizens of the island, those she holds dear, and even the people who hate her.
Persevering- Deevee does not believe in leaving a job half finished. No matter the odds, she will strive to complete the task and see things through to the end. When things she cares about are on the line, quitting is not in her vocabulary, and she will do whatever it takes to endure and accomplish what is required of her, whether it be from a professional borne problem, or a personal one.
Empathetic- Being an Emotion Pokemon, Deevee has the ability to feel the emotional aura of other Pokemon. What was once an annoying ability to her, now serves as a valuable asset when trying to Interact with other people and perhaps help them if they are going through some emotional turmoil. Sometimes because of her naturally cold demeanor it doesn't always work out the way she wants it to, but deep down she truly does want to help other people, and she refuses to see them suffer the same negative emotions she's grown so used to feeling herself.
History Before Steam:
Dahlia Valentine was born from a loving housewife mother and Mechanical Engineer father Oldale town. Dahlia got a baby brother when she became 5 years old. As they both grew up, Dahlia grew her love for her brother Dallas, promising to be the best big sister she could ever be to him. They were not very popular at school, considering Dallas was a very shy and quiet boy, and despite being peppy and free spirited, Dahlia was constantly teased and bullied for her inability to defend herself. A few trips to the doctor confirmed to her parents that something was wrong with Dahlia's inner Energy Well, as it would not replenish, which means she was unable to use the majority of abilities that a normal Ralts could. To compensate for this, little Dahlia opted to take martial arts classes.
When Dahlia was 12 years old, she followed her father to his workplace, since she admired him and his work, creating things for people, and fixing what needed to be fixed. She wanted to be just like him, so she snuck out to surprise him. But when she got there, something shocked her. Their father was working with some very shady people. They turned out to be the local mafia, a criminal organization. And their father was being subjected to extortion. They used his workplace to hide illegal goods and her father was forced to comply with their demands. So doing what she was told by her parents and the school, she reported the bad people to the local police. Seeing as how the little girl was being serious, and even giving them evidence of the illegal goods, the police caught the extortion crew red handed, seizing the goods, and putting the culprits behind bars.
Dahlia thought she had done good, and wanted her parents to be proud, but her father only dreaded, as he knew this would only make the thugs want to exact revenge for being betrayed. Afraid for their lives, The Valentine family opted to be taken into the Witness Protection Program, changing their names, and moving to other places to live. Seeing the damage she did just for trying to do the right thing, Dahlia began to hate herself. When she went to school, she would start fights. When the students and the teachers saw her, they only saw a trouble child. This time, Dallas stepped in for his sister, protecting her from judgment and making her feel better whenever she was feeling down. Dallas and her parents were the only reason Dahlia could still feel some form of happiness.
On their last move, the Valentine family found themselves in Slateport City. The city where the authorities confirmed they were off the grid. Finally the family could try to build a new life. Their father kept at being an Engineer, their mother, having been a housewife at first, took a job at the local supermarket when money became tight. Dallas, now 11 years old, learned how to become more social, and started doing martial arts with his sister. Dahlia, now 16, focused on learning and perfecting her martial arts and self-defense classes, and even try to learn how to use firearms from the locals and even from some police officers. She fueled her hatred, and channeled those feelings into learning how to fight. All in order to protect her family, and most importantly, her brother, whom she promised she would protect since the day he was born.
One fateful day, during the summer after Dahlia had graduated high school and was preparing for college, their parents were out at work, and the Valentine siblings were walking home after martial arts class. But when they arrived home, they found the front door already unlocked. Afraid, Dallas and Dahlia called out to their parents, hoping they just came home early, when they were stopped by a Mightyena in a black suit. A man from the mafia. He had a crew of other Mightyena, and a band of attack dogs with them to ambush their parents. Dahlia and Dallas attempted to resist, but it ended up with Dallas getting injured before the police arrived on the scene and dealt with the situation, arresting the men to save the two children. They were rushed to the hospital and treated, and their parents didn’t leave their side after that.
Dahlia, struck with guilt for what happened to Dallas, could no longer see herself as a protector of the family. They were not safe, because of her. They will never be safe because of her. And she was angry. She vowed she would make things right. The police have immediately scheduled for them to move to another region entirely, the day after the children's discharge from the hospital. But the night before they would move, Dahlia decided to run away from home. Leaving a note on the table, and taking what little money the family had, she departed under the cover of night.
Dahlia, changing her name to Deevee, spent the rest of her days on the run, from both the police, and the organization that ruined her life. She did odd jobs for people wherever she traveled, mostly innocent enough work… at first. And she always made sure to do something to catch their attention, to distract them from going after her family. She wrote letters, attended big events, and knocked on the doors to their businesses. She didn’t know if her efforts were working, but they definitely did notice, as she had run ins with them on more occasions than she’d like.
Years had gone by as she repeated this same routine, living this dangerous life, until finally the leader of the criminal organization was put behind bars after a successful sting operation by authorities of the region. She was free, and her family was finally safe. But even then, she had no desire to go back to them. But with nothing else to do at this point, perhaps that fantastical letter she received a few days ago was something to go by… All that mumbo jumbo about time, the mysteriousness of the letter, despite its sincerity, it was hard to believe. But she had nothing to lose. If it was nothing, then it was nothing, but if it was something… then it wouldn't be hard for her to start anew. She activated the device and headed for port. The fog was my enough to cover the magnificence of the steam boat that arrived, the steam boat that nobody seemed to notice but a select few people who came aboard with her. As if she cared. The only thing she cared about was the destination. And what she’d do with her life when she got there.

Extras:
Being only a Gardevoir, Deevee can no longer grow her muscles any larger than they already have. This fact coupled with her drained energy well makes her very insecure about being a considered a weakling.
Though she’s a crack shot with almost any gun thanks to her extensive self training, she chooses to use her own custom built rifle Carabina, due to adaptability. She can fire projectiles non-lethally by calibrating its power using Fling, ammunition may consist of Rocks and stones, which cuts down on ammo expenses, the variety of ammo she can fire makes it effective in many situations, and the fact that only she can use the weapon is a safety feature in and of itself. She is very possessive of her rifle and cleaning it is a stress relieving activity to her.
Deevee is diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (Split Personality Disorder), developed due to her traumatic past. Her split personality is much more jolly and naive and doesn't respond to being called Deevee. The nature of her disorder used to be very different a few years ago. Her other personality now surfaces at specific emotional moments rather than by a word ad action trigger, and switches are observed to happen more frequently but less pronounced. Though she retains the memory of having this disorder, she still does not notice when she has switched.
Her bare body is littered with scars from injuries both before and while she was on the island. The most prominent scar however is the one around her waist, after she had her gown surgically removed due to it being a detriment in close quarters combat, something her species never really has to worry about.
Has tried almost every vice one can imagine, with the only one she kept being alcohol.
Has a crippling fear of the Mightyena line, and a certain dislike for dogs due to her past.
To compensate for the rather “violent” form of extra curricular activity known as Martial Arts class, her parents also enrolled her and her brother in ballet and singing classes, as well as piano lessons.
Is in a slightly complicated relationship with Crush . She considers herself close with her but is unable to figure out if her feelings are more than platonic. Unable to date yet but wouldn't mind to try when possible.
Lives with Drazen as a housemate and sparring partner, and shares expenses with him. She takes the bedroom as Drazen insists that he prefers the couch. Also turned the garage into a workshop where she attempts to develop new weapons in her free time.
Has a feral Treecko companion. He always follows her around, but doesn't always show himself unless directly summoned, where he then perches on either her shoulder, or her back.
