DryJack — The Mad Hatter

Description Phew! This one seemed to take forever. I don't often bother with a detailed background when I do
portraits (it detracts a bit from the subject), but I felt the mad hatter needed plenty of colour and chaos behind him. There was a lot of fiddly bits to deal with so most of it was done with a tiny brush. It was also a bigger colour palette than I usually use (about 11 or 12). I could maybe have spent another day tightening things up a bit, but this was one of those where it was tough to know when to stop and you can go on fiddling forever if you're not careful. Anyway, hope you like it, (I'm off for a nap).

i totally getyou about the fiddly stuff im working a portrait right now in pencils which seems to have gone on forever, just want to finish it now. by the way this is totally awesome you have done and outstanding job buddy. nice work man. love it, one of best ive seen

Thanks for your wonderful comments. I get totally sick of looking at some of my paintings when they take too long. Sometimes I'll finish something and not even look at it for a couple of weeks. I must admit though, that I really enjoyed doing this one (even though it took too long)
