Description Well dang. Isn't he a lucky little guy to have been at the right place at the right time to see that.

Man, do you guys know how scarce people were on Earth back in 1000 AD? There were only like, 300 million of us. :0 That may seem like a lot, but compared to the 7 billion people we have today that's pretty rare, dude.

Interesting going to the next page to find out what that isΒ

Yeah, it is a little hard to work out where he is at first- though it was his clothing that tipped me off it's a desert~

I love how the colours andΒ minimalist approachΒ make it feel really peaceful and dreamy, but a little more definition to the background couldn't hurt ^^ I'm really looking forward to this, especially after how much I loved MtRC!!

Alrighty. I'll see about adding some definition. Hopefully a little bit of dirt color will do it.

INB4 black goo climbs out of the meteor and latches onto him, enhancing his strength and giving him a freakishly huge jaw.

I'm surprised he did not run for his life, screaming it's the end of the world, tbh. It's 1000 AD and a shooting star! this must be an extremely brave person... or a decorated flashback

He must be of a scientific mind!

Oh. FYI, the 'scientist' title appeared only in mid-1800's, before that they were... natural philosophers or something like that.
In case you're going to use the title in here :>

Where is he? The lack of horizon kind of makes this place look like open space. Is he sitting on water? Or beach? Meteor hitting water surface would have caused a big wave. Or is this desert? Everything being the same color its hard to make out.

If it doesn't become obvious in the next few pages maybe I can add something to help distinguish.
It's a desert.

A very interesting beginning for the story, you have my attention.

A bit of quick math says 300,000,000 people (1,000 AD) divided by 57,500,000 square miles of land surface = 5.21 folks per square mile. Β There's chances the next human was 3 days walk away from where our astronomer is sitting.

He also appears to be pretty close to the impact point, amazing he didn't get knocked into next week.

I did consider drawing him getting knocked back, but I got lazy.

Makes me think that if I were to go back in time it might be a good place to live. A good place to lose yourself!

No worries, he was just about 30 feet outside the blast area.

I'm certain one could get very lost in the world at that time, there had to be vast stretches with a human population of zero. Β I would be interesting to be able to travel through time and find out.

Thanks! This comic might end up having very wonky colors. Hopefully not crazy enough to melt your eyes, though.
