Description Well, what'd you expect? That he'd know Earth languages already?
Whatever that word means, obviously Al-Kareem mistook it to be "Jupiter" and that's how he got his name.

First mystery of the comic (y'all know how Zime likes little mysteries)! Is Jupiter really saying his name or something else? Perhaps we may never know.

That's the last page of the prologue. Let's speed on into the first chapter!

This is so cool Zime!
I'm glad to to know you've made a comic of my favorite genre, sci-fi
I think is really great the fact he doesn't talk human language yet!
In most of movies/shows aliens always seem to magically speak whatever language the humans they meet speak And I've always thought "how is that possible I can't swallow that!" everytime I see that Β
This little detail might be overrated by most of people, but I think it helps a lot to give realism to the story. It gives power to the story, makes it looks more genuine. And for me that is priceless!

This is one awesome headshoot! I specially like the shape of his head, and also the shape of the noose.
One of the reasons I adore to read comics from you is that always amazes me a lot how you color your pages! (and also, your artwork in general, of course)Β  The colors you use and the way you combineΒ  them is such a delight for the eyes! It feels like having a tasty variety of ice cream flavors all in one cone! ( I like to talk in methaphors )
My eyes think this is so tasty so far! So I'll keep seeing more.

By the way, I also love little mysteries as well This is the other reasons why I love to read your stories cos they have stuff that we wonder. This is a clever way to keep people interested in them I must say!
...It works with me at least!

Oh and about what he could be saying...I thought when I first saw this that he might be asking him what's he saying Because they don't talk the same language. But right now thinking well, I think he's saying his name...but I don't know *chuckles*
So I'm hopping you can clear up the mistery in the comic itself!

Okay, so I saw the restroom comment, and that's it. From now on, I'm choosing to believe the first thing he ever did on Earth after crash-landing in the most dramatic, awesome way possible was demand to know where the bathroom was.

Haha, what makes it funnier is that Jupiter has no use for a bathroom.

In this situation I'd say something like 'Hello'.
The headshot makes me wonder is he actually a robot ot a cyborg, since he has very flesh-y mouth.

He's a plain ol' robot. All circuits and gears and gizmos.

Btw, in one story of mine I use the one only good reason on why aliens seem to know human languages.
When a nation's about to contact (a.k.a. reaches the level for the first contact), they start learning their behaviours, psychology and languages, so the first contact will not end in war because of global misunderstanding. For more developed species that might be actually a very easy thing to do.

Sounds good to me!

From what I understand 'Gungitr' is old Galactic Standard for 'restroom'. Β You've been on those long flights before I'm sure.

Hah, I'm so used to aliens being able to speak whatever language of humans they meet, this actually surprised me. XD Nice job thinking of that! Now I'm wondering what he's actually saying...

Yay he can't magically speak what ever language Al-Kareem speaks yay. Honestly though it's kinda dissapointing how often aliens can just speak whatever language they want so good job on that.

Thanks.
It's amusing when movies or TV shows have aliens so smart that they can learn grammatical structures in like, five sentences... but then you think 'but how do they know all of the vocabulary?'. :0 Impossible I tell you!

I love it whenever people remember the language barrier.

DrZime In reply to JZLobo [2014-06-25 16:41:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.
I can let it go sometimes mostly for TV shows that only have an hour to tell a story, but for things like books and movies.. not so much.

JZLobo In reply to DrZime [2014-06-25 16:47:32 +0000 UTC]

Agreed, though in Stargate it REALLY aggravates me, considering the language barrier was a huge plot point of the movie it spun off from.

I'll have to take your word on that! I haven't ever seen a single Stargate. :0

I stopped watching that one about halfway through when they kept trying to one-up themselves on the gross-outs.
