Description This one’s terrain started as a julia fractal. Then it was slightly filtered to look more like a natural terrain formation while maintaining its original fractal shape. The final image isn’t a lot altered from the original version. Postpro done in GIMP only consists of:
- saturation + contrast correction
- flare added
- additional colour correction via curves

The ship model downloaded from here: [link]
The image is highly inspired by: [link]

Done in Bryce + GIMP. Made it for 'I had this weird dream' competition on DAZ forums: [link]

Very nice work and great POV. Maybe the glare is a bit too harsh for me, though.

Highlight it's overburned in the lightest places so I can agree with you on this.

Camera and sun angle is highly inspired by a similar piece (link in the description)

Wow! I find the use of fractals to be an extra interesting touch. my only small critique is that the sails on the boat look very grainy. Otherwise this is a very wonderful piece!

yeah - I don't pay enough attention to the noise. Maybe I should more often

Okay, now I really want to check out this Bryce thing. Is it an animation program?

dwsel In reply to SammyJ-Studios [2013-06-17 16:00:19 +0000 UTC]

It's possible to do some simple animations in it (moving, scaling, rotating objects, camera flythroughs) but so far no import for image or objects sequences. Due to rendering speed you'd rather prefer to render background/full environment map for your scene (to be composited or put into the scene and rendered in i.e. Anim8or) rather than render the whole animation with it.

Hmm. Still sounds cool though
