Description Make sure you take a good close look at this one. It's the WP I've been working on since... shit, must have been since June. School, work, the like... You know the drill...

This peice is inspired heavily by Radiohead and the writings of Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea (i.e. the Illuminatus! Trilogy). There's a lot of subliminal and low level elements that are easy to overlook in this. I'm curious to see who sees what in this. If anyone is interested in any of the imagery involved here, please ask, but I don't want to lecture with this peice.

Done with a scanner, PS6, and 3DS Max R3. I don't have a layer count for this one, but I can make one upon request.

Update (23 August 2002): A print of this is availible here: Lovely Airport - Print Edition

Defenitely your most detailed piece, and I like it a lot. The things that my attention focused on were the little tidbits information dropped in, such as "Causeway to Nowhere" and "Pointy, Do Not Eat". The wind effect you did is also nice. Your use of somewhat simple objects to create an overall complex wallpaper is very impressive.

woah, i remember having this wp, are you sure you made this? i thought someone else did... well if you did good work! also, if you have been working on it since june, kinda strange what you see on this piece with sept 11, the 2 buildings on fire, wierd... good piece.

just beautiful. before i even read your comment about radiohead, it was very clear you were making allusion to them.

This screams of Radiohead. You should send them this, they might like it enough to use it somewhere. Good job of recognizing the music and incorporating it in an artistic format.

excellent work! i saw this one when you just upped it and gave a link on IRC, but never really looked closely....
this is definately the kind of thing i'd use for my wall. great detail... i can see the radiohead inspiration clearly . nice variation, too.... different from all the other stuff out there. /me wonders about v2.

Oh hey, I remember viewing this when you submitted it. It's definately interesting, but I thought some of the elements clashed, taking no note of intention. You clearly put a lot of effort into it, and while it's not the most aestetically magnetic piece I've seen, it's groovy.

This has to be one of the oddest pieces I have seen in a while. I see the Radiohead influence but I also see the sarcastic side of you (then again I only see you in IRC but you get the point)

I like this piece Mother Fucker.

reminds me of Stanley Donwood's brilliant artistic work with Radiohead [which has been said]. Not sure if i like all the blackness on the rest of the image, but it's very eerie and radiohead-like. i especially enjoyed the 'pointy. do not eat' area of the image, as well as the multiple story buildings...well put together.

OK, I don't know where to begin, it's really great. There's millions of things I could comment on, so I shall make this quick. The two "gateways/buildings" are really well made, and I like how you said that's not fire. The man falling off the hill is cool too. The only thing I think could have been worked on longer is that plane? Good job, latez. [Deserves A+++ originality]

that's really warped and deviated. i esp. love the way you've collaged all the elements to describe the emotion behind it. anger, confusion and chaos reign supreme here. well done!

Anyways, it looks heaps good, the composition is awesome. Well done man

i definately see the radiohead influence here. however, some stock photography of wire-like constructions 'tresholded' would be a welcome addition. for the rest, i dig the smudge style.
