She's beautiful. No wonder Capt. Star called her the Jewel of the Seas. I always felt sorry for her sad end.

Why yes. I have indeed. This is actually my own imagining on what the Chimera looked like.

Sweet. Hey from the sound of things, do you think anyone on the Chimera survived the whole thing?

I have no idea. I'm still attempting to figure out exactly what happened to that ship to cause her to be abandoned. Lol

Why not re-listen to the audio production and maybe you can piece together what happened. From what I can guess, a bolt of lightning started the whole thing.

That's the thing. The "way" it happened doesn't make any sense.
For starts, was that why she was abandoned? But if it was, then she should have been a burned hulk.
Secondly, the physics Don't Make sense. Coal dust in the bunkers would need far more then a bolt of lightning to make them explosive. Combustible maybe, but not explosive. Add to it, that is a lot of steel to flash through to even reach the bunkers.
Plus, if she was built like all liners at the time, she would have had a lightning rod in both her masts. That's been common since the 1880s.
I just think the reasons why she met her fate could have been better thought out.

Do you think she may have been carryin' explosives?

Inspired perhaps by the TUGS Audio Drama episode of the same name, over on the Sodor Island Fansite? I only say so because the appearance is quite similar to the description of that story's ghost ship: Pre-First World War, three funnels, roughly 700ft long?

She's a beauty of Titanic proportion! I'm sure Sir William Cornelius Van Horne wouldn't mind having her in the Fleet.

VERY good rendition of a beautiful vessel. I love how I know the backstory behind this.
Twin screw?

Hold Everything! Save the kiddies! I wouldn't have any such cruel child labour on my ship.
