Description The wood load turned out to be the most time consuming bit. The cords where stacked and glued bit by bit. However the arrangement is pure and simple. Alot of people put energy into the perfect placement of the load...chipping away here and there with ex-acto knifes. The truth is on the prototype, they would usually just throw them in and stack them halter-skelter. The quicker you got them in, the sooner you can get underway. So for the most part the wood was assembled by just dropping in chunk by chunk.

I may add some more. Debating heavily if I want to cover the whole of the tender deck, or just leave it as is.

The hooks on the tank wall and the rack are for tools.

It's looking VERY good there!! I'm hoping I can add a similar wood load to my B-mann 4-6-0 at some point.

Well, I have the added benefit of this being a large scale model, so time can be spent on making each peace somewhat individual. I actually split the wood much the same way as a guy with an ax, by upending the log on the workbench, digging a box cutter into one end and tapping it with a hammer. I'm debating if I want to cover the whole deck or leave the rear open.

Just try not to be seen on top of the tender hacking away at them while steaming through enemy lines at full speed
