I just wanted to say that I always wondered what the other houses' marques would look like, and you brought them to life. Beautiful.

It's gorgeous. I've just finished "Kushiel's Avatar" and the grace of this marque fits Phedre's personality now just as well as it would fit the fresh-faced 22-year-old Phedre. I love your use of sangoire

Would you be insulted or honored if I wanted to get this tattoo? And if you I can, would you like pictures?

Best I've seen ever. I've always been annoyed with the fact that they didn't seem to have the tools in the Marque, but this one does. Like you said, very "pointy and stabby and whippy and rosey"
Much closer to my mental picture than anything else I've seen

I'm quite gratified to see that, instead of just imitating the marque on the cover, you interpreted the description. It was, after all, supposed to be a bit bold and abstract. I *do* believe that the scarlet and black was supposed to be a bold contrast on her pale skin, but I think this is beautifully done nonetheless.

wow, gorgeous interpretation of phedre's marque. I was actually looking for another artist's rendition which she did in sharpie, but I haven't been able to find it again yet. Any suggestions, is there a community or some such?

I've been browsing interpretations of the mark on here, and this one is magnificent. My compliments.

This looks just awesome. It's amazing how experimentation really helps to work out a design, and I think you really got it with this one. The deep red works very well, too, just as you said.

Thank you! Yes - experimentation really really does help - I must try and remember that more often!

I think you have the briar feeling down well on this--especially as a piece of tatoo art. I'm not quite convinced on the big blck blob of a flower at the top. Perhaps if there was some definition given to the petals and structure of the rose through the judicious use of white it would make it less oppressive. It has beautiful symmetry.

I like it. The tatoo artists in the group will probably tell you the white highlights are too small to show up in a tatoo, but at least now I can tell it is a rose! Now I can do my ooh aah comment...
