Description Commissioned Gazebo roof, Panel 5, Bird nr 8.
A woman commissioned this for the inside ceiling of her gazebo,
she wanted a blue sky with birds.
It's acrylic on a triangle shaped sheet of wood, there is in all 8 panels.

Oh, it's a Tjaldur (Couldn't find it's english name) I like those birds a lot. We used to have a pair in the lake close to my house, but they've moved now. You've done a great job painting this, all the shadows and feathers and markings ... You are painting very realistic. I'm impressed. And i like your way to paint your clouds, too!

Here in Norway its called Tjeld kinda similar to your danish name for it (not that thats odd XD).
I also don't know the english name "Wiki help us!" wiki says it's called Eurasian Oystercatcher. Dos it catch a lot of oysters?
It's a really cool bird I haven't seen it much in real life, being so close to a pair must have been fun

Actually, we call it a "Strandskade" (Doesn't seem like it could do much damage) and sometimes "Strandstork" but my dictionary must have a problem. Wait a moment.
Oh, now I figured out - I am so smart, it was not in Norway, but in Iceland -epicfail- your flags are pretty much alike xD and they were placed just underneath each other, so I got confused. I am so clever ... But, well, I've always been an idiot to flags, so I am not surprised XD
It was very special, they're some very pretty birds, but those eyes are a bit scary o.O

Oh, so you where trying to find the norwegian name for it, but found the icelandic XD hehe I thought Tjaldur sounded a little icelandic
Strandskade and strandstork sound more right and danish.
You know that our flag is just your flag with a blue line in the middle.

Their eyes are scary, and I think thats why I like them so much X3
